Although it was indeed made of stainless steel, the ricer was not very sturdy. The parts were easily bent and not easily cleaned.

It's big, heavy, and a bugger to clean, but the mash is beautifully smooth and just awesome.. so it's kind of worth it.

Very well constructed from sheet stainless steel. Round parts are formed into a cylinder and seams welded. The inner cylinder that keeps the disc in place fits very closely in the outer cylinder and has a rim. Handles are stamped from heavy gauge sheet steel. The three discs are also stamped from heavy sheet. Rivet hinges are loose so there is easy play to fit parts together. Liked the silicon handle cushions. Highly polished. If the inner cylinder cannot be removed from the outer cylinder, turn the ricer over and push on the disc to push out the inner cylinder. If you forget to install the disc and insert the inner cylinder and have problems removing the inner cylinder, the rim on the inner cylinder allows you to pry the inner cylinder up with a knife to get a grip on it.

I just purchased this potato ricer and then made garlic parmesan mash potatoes. There is a huge difference in the consistency of your potato mash. They are very pleasantly light and airy. It takes no time to process your mash potatoes. Once you rice your potatoes, it just takes a couple stirs.I am happy that I invested in one of these ricers. I would absolutely purchase it again. When you use it, score your potatoes before you boil them and then the skin will come right off after boiling them. You can leave the skins on the potatoes but it is harder to remove the skins from the inner cylinder after the ricing has occurred.

It is a soundly put together little contraption. You put in boiled potatoes and you squeeze out heavenly mashed potatoes. I struggle in my moderately small kitchen with single use gadgets so I fought buying one of these things for a long time but I also struggle with liking most potatoes dishes, I know I'm weird, so after hearing over and over how this thing turned ordinary potatoes into gold I finally broke down and got it. It makes the smoothest and creamiest mashed potatoes you could never get with a hand mixer or wooden spoon. If you want to make divine mashed potatoes, you kinda need one of these things.

This is one of best of the Potato Ricers out there. I like that this model has an 'Inner Liner Cup' that firmly keeps the Ricer Discs always in place at the bottom of the Ricer. It probably doesn't have the biggest hopper to hold the most potatoes, but it is big enough, & it loads easily. I already have Food Mill style of Ricer which is O.K., but it is not easy to thoroughly clean, and it is large, taking up a lot of cupboard space. My go-to Ricer is the Rorence SS Ricer for everyday use. It may be a little more expensive than many ricers, but it is worth the money since it is so well-designed, sturdy, and cleans-up relatively easily. I'd estimate that each hopper full of potatoes delivers enough riced potatoes to serve two to three people, unless they really love their mashed potatoes? It is good to give ALL Potato Ricers a thorough spraying of hot water after using them, since 'mashed/riced' potatoes can harden fairly fast, and may be difficult to clean if they are not left to soak in water after using them.

I bought this tool specifically for spätzle and it rocked! I had previously used the slider kind that looks like a cheese grater. That thing was messy and a pain and I never really liked the way the spätzle turned out. When I went to Germany recently, I saw this press style of spätzle maker all over the place. So I was excited to order one when I got home. Many of the reviews of similar products said that they had problems with the disc at the bottom coming out. This one does not have that. There's an inner sleeve that holds it down. There was a little bit of squishing of the dough out the top, but 90% got into the pan. The rest easily slid off the pressing part of the tool back into the cup. Overall I saved at least 50% time with this gadget compared my old spaetzle maker, and clean up was super easy. All the parts can go on the dishwasher. Most importantly, the spaetzle turned out perfect! I used the teardrop hole insert. Next time I will try the big round one too just to see how it differs.Overall I'm really happy with this product and felt like it was a great purchase.
