I used this drill to cut holes in the top edge of glass light covers. My expensive bulbs kept burning out because the heat couldnt disipate from the fixtures. It made smooth cuts (holes) in all six covers.

I got halfway through the first hole when the end of the bit disintegrated. I was drilling slowly, using water to keep things cool, and the thick porcelain tile was a challenging material. I was really disappointed to have it fail and had to fall back on an older bit to complete the installation.

The four carbide blades distribute wear better than a two blades. The four blades coming to a smooth round point means no waling of the bit point w/o having to make a starter indentation. Fast cutting. Well made.

bought these bits to drill thru porcelain tiles and they would not even break thru the surface of the tile. used some cheaper drill bits to get thru surface and then switched to these bits to drill rest of hole. they worked pretty good for that portion. even with constant water on them, they still heated up enough that the welds on the cutting bits broke down and the tips came off (usually in the hole so more time fishing it out to be able to finish drilling hole). can't say that i would purchase these bits again. used all 5 bits on 24 holes and broke all of them.
