I’ve been a drummer for 30+ years, and my first drumkit was actually a Roland TD7K, in this case I’ve known about this trigger for a number of years and tbh I never expected a trigger to be so consistent right out of the box; I used it with the Roland TM-2 module and I’m amazed how well it works with my acoustic bass drum with mesh drumhead.I’ve tried other triggers before but this is the best hand down.

I've used the DDrum Chromes for years. Thing is, they keep dying. I don't know why. At $100 a trigger it got ridiculous. So I grabbed the competitor model, and bam! No problems whatsoever. Just make sure you don't go play a show where the idiot drummer has those bass skins with the " foam dampening ring" blah garbage. And you'll be fine. Excellent trigger. Highly recommend.

I replaced the ddrum red shot in my base drum with this Roland 30K trigger because of ghost strikes and non accurate beats from the ddrum Red Shot. The RT-30K worked flawlessly right away with my Roland TD-17 module. I use two ply mesh heads on my DW set conversion. The Red Shot triggers work fine on the other toms. The issue was with the bass drum. I highly recommend the RT-30K for the bass drum. It is very accurate and makes the bass drum sound with a lot of power.

I would give it five stars but I think Roland could sell these for a little cheaper. I was glad to find somebody discounting the price a little bit on Amazon. Don't pay full price for this if you can help it. This does fit my standard every day run of the mill drum set. I'm using a Pearl Export from the early 2000s and it fits on the snare drum rim fine. I've heard that these don't work for mesh heads, but for standard coated heads it works just fine. You may need to adjust the sensitivity on your brain but other than that the default settings on your midi device should work just fine. The dual trigger works perfectly. It detects the rimshot and fires both triggers when appropriately necessary. You only get what you pay for and these are good. I would suggest buying one and testing it first. If it doesn't work I'm pretty sure you could return it as long as you didn't mangle it up. Installation is a breeze. These come on and off very easy. Update, I ordered three more of these and the one for the kick. Your brain may not support dual trigger on all inputs. Single triggers should work just fine if your brain doesn't support dual trigger for tom inputs. Even though I think the default on mine is dual triggers off on the tom inputs I bought all dual triggers anyway. I'll try and figure out if my device can be set up for dual trigger on the toms as well as the snare. An updated brain or other MIDI device should allow me to enhance my sounds having all dual trigger. The kick drum is on order. I suspect it'll work as they say it does. Again, these are very easy to take on and off. I'm using a Pearl Export kit from around the year 2000. Very standard size rims. They do rattle a little bit with no pads on the heads. I use my Evans pads for practice with headphones to hear the trigger. They work really well that way. If you're getting some rattling on your mesh head or your regular skins I suspect the heads are vibrating and resonating a lot. These triggers are very sensitive, even with the sensitivity turned down low they might rattle a little bit. My suggestion is try throwing something over the drum like a t-shirt or a towel to mute the skins. If you're wanting to use them to enhance your live performance, a few pieces of heavy duct tape on your heads will probably help keep your heads from over resonating and causing multiple triggers. That's what I did for my snare drum. That work just fine.

I actively gig in two different bands currently and I use a kit with two kick drums. I got tired of gambling with the venue either not having enough inputs for both kick drums or only having one mic. So I decided to purchase these along with the Roland TM-1 module. These are super easy to use and super easy to adjust the sensitivity with using the module. And another important aspect is that it’s easy for me swap these back-and-forth between drum kits, as I have one kit that I use at my practice space and another kit that I use only for gigs. So quick and easy set up time is important. I recommend these triggers, and on another note, I highly recommend the TM-1 module. The analogue knobs on it make it much easier to sit and much easier to adjust on the fly at gigs versus the TM-2, which has a lot of features but kind of a pain to set up.
