Seems to work. I noticed squirrels seem to shy away from the vehicle while parked. It was a little hard finding a suitable spot to mount but would different for each vehicle. The provided zip ties came in handy in the engine compartment and the wiring cord was easy to install with provided instructions

I recently purchased the Buzzkick Rodent Repellent for Car Engines, and after testing it out, I’m giving it 3 out of 5 stars. On the positive side, it does what it promises: the flashing lights and ultrasonic sounds are active, and I like the versatility of power options—4xAA batteries, USB, or direct car battery connection. It even comes with wires for hooking it up to your car battery or a USB source, which is handy. However, there are some drawbacks. The on/off switch is confusingly backwards—off is on, and on is off—which is frustrating. The included wiring is also only about 31 inches long, so depending on your setup, you might need extensions. Plus, you’ll need your own USB power port since one isn’t included. Another note: the sound drove my dogs crazy whenever they got near it, so pet owners beware. At $39.99, the price feels fair for what you get, but the quirks hold it back from being great. It’s a decent option if you’re battling rodents, but it’s not without its flaws.

This 3-in-1 ultrasonic pest repeller is a game-changer! If you have issues with rodents chewing wires in your car engine, this is your solution. The ultrasonic and flashing LED deterrents work effectively, keeping pests away. The build quality is solid, and I love the compact design—it fits perfectly under the hood without taking up much space. Installation was a breeze with the two power options: direct wiring or using AA batteries for flexibility. The device runs quietly and efficiently without draining my car battery.Pros:✔ Highly effective – Keeps rodents away from my engine bay.✔ Dual power options – Can be wired directly or run on AA batteries.✔ Compact and well-built – Sturdy construction and easy to install.✔ Low power consumption – Won't drain the car battery.✔ Silent operation (to humans) – No annoying noise while driving. If you’re dealing with rodent problems in your vehicle, this is a must-have solution. Highly recommend!

Mice still sneak into the basement so the cats are the deterrents in that situation because this repeller is too loud for indoor use and bothers the cats and humans in the vicinity. However the shed/second garage that is used for storage had a serious problem with racoons and mice and there have been no sign of anything disturbing our stored boxes since placing one in the 'shed' and another in the attached garage which also keeps squirrels away from the garage. I like the fact that it can get power from 3 different sources. I opted for the USB source to avoid paying for batteries. I might use batteries though if outlet not reachable. We had rodents and other furry critters sneaking in the back door before so hopefully this will keep them out. Solid construction and looks durable.

Bothered by rattlings in the garage, I put this right inside the garage door. For these few days, the noise stopped in there. I am thinking of putting that outside in front of the house, and I hope that works too.

This is one of those situations where you can't say for certain because you don't have two of the exact same scenario, one with and one without. We have tried this and still get mice, but maybe there would be more??Our cars have suffered so much damage...chewed brake lines, harnesses, etc. THOUSANDS of dollars worth of damage. And, our cars are in the garage. So in addition to this unit, we double up the "security" with a water bucket trap. Overall, I think the mice will endure just about anything when it's so cold outside.I was hoping to use the battery connection with our tender, but I can't figure out how to do it and if it's a good idea, so we're not going that route. But, it's a neat option to have available, if it doesn't drain the battery.
