I bought this to use with automotive A/C work, and it works well.

The first one I ordered would not read below 80 degrees. The second is only accurate to within 10-15 degrees. This is not a typical Robinair quality product. Instead you’re getting a ridiculously overpriced piece of junk that says Robinair on it. DO NOT BUY THIS

For determining a drop in temperature it will do ok. Ambient temperature is off by quite a few degrees.

You can’t go wrong with Robinair. This is my second Robinair thermometer. The one I bought in 1985 (no kidding) was still accurate, clear and easy to read, but it has disappeared and presumed MIA. The only thing limiting the life span of this one is my lifespan, as it’s unreasonably optimistic to expect that I’ll live another 35 years. So go ahead. Get the good one with a good brand name, it’s not like it’s expensive. :)

Bought this as part of a owl kit to deal with all air conditioning at home and in my cars. Never had any issues and still in great condition as today.

Works greate. I use it to measure the vent temps. And i like that it can be calibrated.Only con is that the dial and numbers are too small. It's readible from 30 cm distance but not too clear for the average person.

The thermometer is off by 8 degrees. I verified this against 2 other thermometers that are extremely accurate (and expensive), also, against a laser thermometer. All 3 test thermometers were within 1/2 degree of each other. Total waste of money.I'm updating my rating due to the following:I don't know why the manufacturer does not state that the thermometer can be adjusted. Behind the dial there is a hexagonal nut... I grabbed the nut with locking pliers and rotated the dial slightly. It's not overly easy (the dial is affixed pretty well) but I managed to bring the thermometer right into alignment. The scale is small but I have it so it reads accurately now.I'm giving it 3 stars because I should not have to have gone through aligning the thermometer, that should have been done at the factory.

Accurate gauge, required slight re-calibration my turning the stem in relation to the dial using the hex on the top of the stem. I calibrated it against an electronic thermocouple.Once calibrated it stayed accurate across the temperature range I tested it (40-70f).

I use this for getting vent temperature readings while servicing AC systems in my shop. It gets the job done. Seems to be high quality. I figure I'll forget to grab it out of a customer's car when they leave before it will ever break. Numbers are big enough you can read them without having to get into the vehicle to read.
