Beware testers calibrated for auto / truck antifreeze- when using polypropylene antifreeze you need this tool.

This item is junk. It is impossible to obtain repeatable and reliable indications on this thing. Following the instructions, I tried dozens of times to obtain the same two indications back to back from liquid samples that never changed. Pure water sometimes tested to be water and sometimes tested to be pure antifreeze. Pure antifreeze sometimes tested the same as distilled water. Water + antifreeze mixture tested all over the map. Truly one of the most completely useless items I have ever purchased in my long life.

Seems to work fine for me. You just have to be patient and let any small bubbles dissipate to get a fairly accurate reading. The large size and small suction tube make it a lot easier to use than smaller testers which are less accurate.

It was hard reading the graduations -- they should be bigger and black or similar. I used this new tester on a new jug of -50F Propylene Glycol RV antifreeze. It read +10F. Same for other bottles. The antifreeze directions say it wont freeze solid until -50F but will form slush before that. This +10F reading was about the temp when slush started. So as long as you keep this in mind, it should work for you. Good price and service from Amazon

The description on this product is wrong. There is no sixth disc. It's a Propylene tester, but I think the description is for a ethylene glycol tester. The seller told me the description was wrong, however, it was a different seller at time. It's a quality product and will last a very long time and the 12 bucks I paid was well worth the price.

We ordered this product to check the levels in our basketball base. Because we wanted to use a environmentally friendly product (we have a dog and a child)we had a really hard time finding a tester. Thanks to Amazon we found it. It was easy to use. The seller packed it well and it arrived quickly.
