I disliked the entire experience and I'll avoid using Amazon services for all future online purchases

Although the brush is nice the photo is very misleading. I should have read the reviews and description better I guess, but it’s obviously misleading on purpose and I won’t be ordering anything from here again because of it.

Again, it's just one tiny cheap brush.

The Signet series brush by Robert Simmons is their line of natural hair brushes for oil painting. This post is misleading, since the image shows multiple brushes in various shapes and sizes. But the post does state that the posting is for a SINGLE brush. As to the comment of not getting to choose which brush was received, the post informs you what size will be received: the "0" is the size of the brush (this is very thin and best for detail work). It indicates that the shape of the brush is "round." This is the most commonly used shape of paint brush that people like working with because there is a variety of uses and strokes you can create with a round brush. The other numbers that are on a brush's handle, "40R" in this case, is a manufacturer code. The number that is before the letter is the code for that series of brushes and then the shape of the brush ("R" indicating it's a round brush). This is to help identify a brush correctly when ordering. Majority of the Signet series codes is "40;" but there are some exceptions. Egbert shaped brushes are "43"; Fan brushes are "408"; and Filbert brushes are "42".To the comment about it being just a "cheap brush." Robert Simmons Signet brushes are a professional level series of brushes. In 2020, ARTnews ranked Robert Simmons Signet brushes number 1 in Best Natural-Hair Brushes for Oils, pointing out that oil paint needs stiff, sturdy bristled paintbrushes to move viscus paint and don't shed, while hold their shape. The Signet series uses quality hog hairs for the bristles. They are interlocked, and deep in the ferrule so that the natural curve of the hair leans inward; creating controlled strokes and maintaining the shape of the brush over years of rigorous use. The individual hairs have texture, which allows the brush to pick up and hold a lot of paint and distribute paint more evenly. Meaning less time used reloading the paintbrush. The handle is made of beechwood and is given five coats of lacquer. This makes the handle feel almost like a plastic handle, but with the flexibility and warmth of natural wood; this reduces hand strain from holding a brush for hours at a time. The Robert Simmons Signet brush series is my personal favorite for natural hair brushes. If I am unable to find what I need in Signet, my next choice is Silver's Grand Prix series.

My artistic niece specifically asked for this brand of brushes. She is very discriminating and I am sure they have quality that will last her a lifetime of painting.
