It’s ok, we are using it for our 14# doodle but no way is it for a stronger medium sized dog. It’s not nearly as smooth operating as our previous ones we bought in pet store , feels cheap & flimsy, I’m pretty sure mechanism for retracting wont work for long but it was on the cheaper end. The snap to connect the leash to the collar is very small so definitely not for a bigger dog. It works but nothing to brag about .

I was very skeptical about buying this because I have had to return so many other ones. Then my child put the fact that the dog leash has to be purple so the hint was truly on. I was pleasantly surprised. It is very light! The grip is perfect for my hand and the stop button works great! It could back up very fast. This was an issue I had with other leashes is that they would not recoil, not this one. It's very quick! I LOVE that! The only thing that I have a problem with on this leash is that the snap is very small. I think they found the smallest snap possible to connect to a dog harness/collar. It barely fits on the fitting on my dogs harness, but it does fit. If you are interested in this leash I very much recommend it, but keep in mind how big the fitting is that you will be snapping the leash onto. I posted a picture of a leash that is the same size as this one with it's snap and this one's snap to show how small it is. Great leash though. Hopefully if they make a new design they will give it a bigger snap. Happy dog walking!Update, so in just a few months I have a completely different outlook on this leash. I was walking my dog this morning and it was in the locked position. Out of no where I hear a noise coming from the leash. It was stuck in one spot. I get home and open it up. Internal parts in what looks like two different areas completely broke. This is inside. I had to take a screwdriver just to open it up. The recoil was one thing that broke but the button to lock it was just fine. See last picture. We were just walking. My dog was not pulling, nothing. There was no pressure put onto the leash. There was actually a small amount of slack in the line when it broke.

Well, let's dig into my thoughts.First things first, pay close attention to the weight limit. In my experience, the leash didn't live up to expectations. It barely lasted three days with my son's nearly 45 lb pup. Granted, she's a spirited, untrained pup, but the retraction mechanism couldn't handle her energy.While the leash itself is sturdy, and the handle feels great, the retraction part fell short. I wouldn't recommend it for bigger dogs, especially if they tend to pull. Maybe suitable for smaller, well-behaved pets, but I wouldn't push the limits here. Proceed with caution and keep a tight leash on those expectations!

Get what you pay for. Works alright for a cheap leash, but the lock mechanism made me worry every time I tried to engage it. It didn’t want to engage very smoothly and it sounds like it’s a plastic mechanism In there that could have a gear grind down. Wasn’t comfortable in the hand. Returned it and went for another brand that was much better
