I haven’t had the opportunity to used and test the quality. I thought it was a fine threatening. The description didn’t specify it.

This is a great set of UNC right hand dies. This set includes 10 pieces from 1/4"-20 to 1"-8. They are made of high quality carbon steel and come housed in a metal storage case. Sharp threads and clean castings. 5 stars for quality and value.

Okay here comes my life story and some "Not So Fond Memories".Back in 1985-89 I served in the U.S. Army as a Patriot Missile Operator/Technician at an Army post somewhere in West Texas. Could have been El Paso. The toughest part of that job was grounding the equipment. Sitting on my back side behind a radar screen was just the cream on top.As I recall, during emplacement, we had to drive (3) 8' grounding rods straight down into Mother Earth using a hand held ram, kind of like a metal fence post driver. It might have been (3) 1' grounding rods, but, I'm telling the story, so they're gonna be 8 footers from here on out.No small feat nonetheless. Granted, we were in the deserts of New Mexico, pounding into relatively soft sand, but still, after stripping multiple threads we began driving those rods almost horizontally out of desperation. The officers soon caught on and we were quickly back to vertical.Problem was, after getting the first rod or two in the ground, the grounding rods would eventually bend at the joints where they were joined together with couplers. When they bent, they stripped the threads, and we'd have to pull them back out, re-thread them, and start over.So after constantly re-threading those copper grounding rods in the middle of the night, and in the middle of the desert, and in the middle of winter, we got pretty darned good at it. And we learned how to drive those rods straight up and down by showing them no mercy.I've used this kit once and I can tell you they're on the money. They get the job done. No bones about it.If you need to re-thread a pipe you'll be good to go with this set.

Cheap set at less than $8 per piece. I had to educate myself on the differences between NPT and UNC threading and...wow...that can take you down a rabbit hole. These die will suit just fine for various small home projects. Not sure I would trust the quality for professional jobs that require precision. I do not like the "exquisite" carrying case these come in. The case does NOT latch at all so it's pretty useless. Sure, it's nice that it is metal instead of the usual plastic, but I'd prefer a plastic case that latches over a metal case that does not. Putting a thick rubber band around the case solves the issue.

First I want to mention that the dies themselves are pretty good and sturdy. They are able to thread pipes without much trouble, and one of the dies looks pretty good after I threaded two pipes. So hopefully the longevity is there, but them being only "high carbon steel" is not very reassuring to me. The biggest flaw I've noticed on this set so far is the carrying case. It will not stay closed no matter what you do to it, and the dies keep spilling out onto the floor every time you try to pick up the case. It's super annoying, because I'm not thinking about how the case is cheap and faulty, so I pick it up expecting it to be a normal case and just go with it. I'd suggest transferring the hex dies onto a separate container, because the one that's included is junk.

I saw a bunch of reviews that said they were trying out the product for free but I paid for mine and wanted to share what I think.Straight up these are amazing. I had a serious problem with a home car lift I bought where I accidentally damaged the threading on a pivot bar and have tried multiple things to fix the problem. The size I needed was a around the 3rd largest of the nuts and it beautifully repaired the damaged area.Friggin amazing product!

I recently got my hands on this comprehensive Die Set, and I have to say, it’s been an absolute boon for my maintenance and repair work. The set includes a wide range of sizes, from 1/4’’-20 to 1’’-8 UNC, making it versatile enough to handle almost any task I throw at it. It’s like having a Swiss Army knife for threading jobs! The durability of these dies is exceptional. The manufacturer’s collaboration with a material research institute to tweak the carbon ratio in the material has evidently paid off. The dies have a robustness that reassures me of their longevity, even with frequent use. It’s like they’ve been forged in the fires of Mount Doom – they just refuse to wear out!Precision is key in threading, and these dies deliver beautifully. The threads I’ve cut with them are accurate and clean, and the smoother outer surface of the dies makes handling and working with them a breeze. It’s like threading with butter – smooth and effortless. The portable metal case is another highlight. Not only does it look sleek, but it also keeps all the dies organized and secure. It’s a big plus for someone like me who tends to misplace tools. With this case, everything has its place, reducing the risk of losing any of the pieces.Lastly, the one-year warranty and the promise of problem resolution within 6 hours is the cherry on top. It gives me peace of mind knowing that support is just a message away if I ever run into issues. In conclusion, this Die Set is a stellar addition to my tool collection. It combines versatility, durability, precision, and convenience in one neat package. For anyone frequently involved in maintenance and repair work, this set is a must-have!

I got these for my husband to use for work and I kept checking his tool box to see if he had used them. After over a month in his truck and they didn't have any damage like the rest of his tools I asked him when he was going to use them so I could get them reviewed and he looked at me like I was a goat with three heads. He laughed and said he uses them daily at work they are just that good that they aren't all beat up. He said this is the best kit he has used and it's a great variety of sizes so he almost always has what he needs from this kit. The carrying case isn't as strong as the dies but it's still decent as well. He has asked me to order a set for dirty Santa this year for Christmas in July and is positive his co workers are going to have a war over them.
