I used this to chase threads on an old bolt. I did not use it to cut new threads on bar stock, but for what I needed it worked very well. It got the threads alligned and repaired on the first try.

Initially, the product did not work because I failure to use it properly. Then, I saw Youtbube to see how people using Dies. Then, I use the DIe to rethread the shot-up wheel studs on my 2016 Genesis G80, and I worked great. I save $$$ now i dont have to replace studs.

This product was the right size for a single bolt that had to be used on a set of 6 very special bolts supporting a freestanding bathtub. There was no replacement bolt that size available locally.

After many years of using an impact gun to put on and off my wheel, my studs were getting a bit stripped and it was getting a bit hard to put the nuts on my wheels at the point that I couldn't even tighten them by hand anymore. But after using this I can put my nuts on by hand no problem.

A standard die is difficult to use on wheel studs on that are installed in the hub because the handle won’t turn (it’s blocked by the other studs). This solves that problem by allowing you to use a socket.
