I got this because of the waterproof rating and the fact is was the same brand as my radio. The speaker work but is not the same quality as the one on my radio so there is a little more tinny sound to it. I did have to firmly push the connector for the mic into the radio and the plastic tang on the connector is slightly larger that the hole on my radio. I just pushed it down and used the screw connector to get it to fit. This is more of an annoyance that a problem. It’s just you will see a gap in the connection of the connector is not properly engaged which coil lead to issues with using the mic. It is these issues and the over all quality of the mic which caused me to rate 4 out of 5 stars. The mic works and I have used it a couple times.

I ordered this to go with my Retevis HA1G to make it a more flexible setup. The build quality feels sturdy and the sound has been good so far. This is my first radio that does not use the normal K1 connector and while it’s not as universal, I love the solid screw mount connection. No more concerns about it accidentally becoming unplugged. Overall, a great accessory for the price.

Does it work? Like 80% of the time. Audio quality is decent for a new mic. Time will tell if it will hold up. I’ve had issues where I’m pushing the PTT button on the mic, and the radio doesn’t see that I’m transmitting. I think for the money, I would invest in a better mic. This mic should be no more than $15 dollars. The build quality doesn’t warrant a $30 price tag.

I had to replace my other unit as it encountered a little road rash and was not functioning correctly. This replacement cured the problem of intermittent voice function. I am happy with this replacement as it is such a convenience.

These are poor quality, they are not water proof. We bought six. Four of them quit working and we would like replacements that last.
