I wish I would’ve found this mic about 4 mics ago! The stainless cord makes it very durable considering all the abuse of everyday wear, swinging, and being knocked all around. It also delivers a clear quality sound. I highly recommend it.

I have a cobra 29ltd cb radio. The mic that came with it went out,so I replaced it with this. Works great. Looks nice, and wasn't expensive.

The sun baked my original microphone and the wires ended up being exposed.

They're NOT the same quality as years ago, but this one is working pretty great so far, getting plenty of reports of sounding crystal clear from around the world on my galaxy dx-94hp running thru my brand new RM italy kl703 amp with a stryker magnet mount antenna. They feel light but again work good, came on time, cord makes it so much nicer than my other astatic mic I just bought, that one gets tangled and seems to be stretched out with minimal use, this one doesn't do that. Time will tell how they both hold up.

I’ve always been a fan of astatic mics, great product, quality and appearance, have it on a cobra 29LXBT cb radio and works mint, lot better then stock mic. Now for the Amazon part, very impressed, ordered it Feb 10/21 arrival date was set for Feb 17/21, 2 days later got notification “may be arriving later then expected” and next thing I know Feb 15/21 “family day” I got the notification that “my product was delivered to my post box” Very impressed with service

A must have microphone, I use it with either my President or Superstar & Cobra cb radio's, they all sound excellent on-air, getting a clear and articulated audio across town or abroad via the ionospheric 'skip' conditions. To be honest it sounds every bit as good as it's legendary brother the Astatic M-575 Teardrop, the advantage is you cannot over-modulate.

Output of this mic will generally be very clear, distortion and noise free. The output is also a little weak, so you really need to "eat the mic" to get it loud enough. If you have a habit of holding the mic a few inches away and mumbling in that weak, mousy manner that irritates and annoys everyone... if people keep saying, "What'd he say???" all the time.. then this mic is not for you. The mic is very heavy duty, made of thick, tough plastic with a metal grill. I personally prefer the version with the metal jacketing on the cord. I've used these things (and the more expensive RK56 mics) for several decades. As long as you aren't passing the mic to your buddies in the back seat, the cords will hold up. The mic itself is practically bullet proof. Back in the 80's I once plugged one into a radio without screwing the outer lock ring down, as I was testing two mics while out on the road. The mic came unplugged and the connector hit me in the face (coiled cord on that one) and I let go of the mic which went right out the window, on the highway. I stopped, walked back and got it. A few scuff marks on it, and that's all. I still have it, and yes, it still works fine. Again, the mic, like all dynamic noise cancelling ones, is meant to be held right up to your mouth, with the rubber guard against your upper lip. If you don't use it this way, and don't speak up, in a normal volume, you will be on here whining and sniveling that the mic is junk. The mic is a far cry from being junk. If you're the squeaky mouse type, buy the power mic version of this thing, but chances are you're not talking INTO the mic, anyway, and you'll whine about that one, too.
