The battery came in sealed container. Nothing wrong with it, and upon installation worked perfectly great product great way to restore old products back to life.

I've had my 5th gen Ipod for nearly 20 years. It still works fine but, after all those years of course, the battery was finished. I came across Ipod replacement batteries on Amazon by accident. I found the needed battery , ordered it and in two days it arrived.On You Tube opening the Ipod case is just a pry and tug and it's open. NOT. It took me at least half an hour to open the case. The tools that come with the battery are ok, but I ended using my clean, thin putty knife.My advice is, take your time opening the case. Remember, it has to go back together again.Second bit of advice is, go to YT for instructions on the actual battery replacement. Some good tips there.I did replace the battery, charged it up and now my 20 year old Ipod is ready to go anytime.I recommend this battery.
