Was a bit worried the cable was backwards as some reviews mentioned, but it seems to have been a glitch. Fit like a glove even with the i quad installed.

This replacement battery for the iPod classic music player is definitely worth considering if you have an aging iPod or a worn out battery in your iPod. Installing it requires a bit of patience and delicately working with connectors and ribbon cables. Once installed, you now have a battery that greatly exceeds the battery life you have been used to. Keep in mind there are two physical size for these batteries: One is thinner for the 30 gig version of the iPod classic and one is thicker for the 60 gig version of the iPod classic. Also keep in mind that this concept is really designed to fit in the case at its best when use in conjunction with something like the thin iFlash SD card reader that replaces the physical hard drive. I would highly recommend.

Thought this would fit in my iPod classic case, but not enough depth in the case. Be very cautious when buying batteries for your iPod classic.

Battery fit into a iPod Classic. Need to be careful with connection cables to avoid damage. You are completely filling the available space on the inside. Been a couple of months of operation and battery is performing well.

I replaced the HDD with SD card which gives more than enough space to fit this battery in (there's still some space left). It's a nice upgrade for an aging iPod - original battery was 500mAh (and I bet it lost noticeable amount of capacity over the years) - so it's 6x more + SD needs significantly less power than the HDD.I've put it into MC297LL model (slim, 160 GB, late 2009).The most difficult part of the replacement process is opening the case and not damaging any ribbon cables.

I installed the battery in iPod Classic and after full charge, turned the music on and left it on to see how long the battery lasts. The battery lasted only 56 hours. I wonder how they came up with "180 hours of playing media"
