The parts are fine and fit perfectly.I consider myself a very competent tinkerer, but this was a hard job. Clearly, the solenoid was not designed to be serviced and even with all the right tools, it was not easy to do this repair. The total install time was ~60-90 frustrating minutes. Here is some advice - in order to hold the plunger in the solenoid while installing the suggested metal hook and hemostat might work for some, but for me, I found an alternative:I ran a small length of fishing line through the loop on the cotter pin, using it to keep the solenoid in place. Once it was in place, I released one end of the fishing line and pulled it out. Further, the wires to/from my solenoid were really not long enough to maneuver the solenoid assembly in and out. So, I cut mine, installed the assembly and then used crimp butt connectors to re-connect the wires. I also wound up removing and replacing a twist tie that holds the wires in place. In conclusion - the parts are fine. The installation is tough.

Bought this to repair a Kodak Ektagraphic AF-1 Slide Projector. I was successful. Everything was as described in the four page instructions, but more detail about solenoid would have been useful. It took ten minutes to disassemble down to the solenoid repair. It took me about 2 hours to remove the plunger for repair the auto focus light bulb is in the way,) 5 minutes to remove the rivet, quickly realized that the supplied cotter pin was going to make reassembly even more difficult, so reused the rivet with a dab of super glue. All good so far, but it took me several hours spread over several days, and many YouTube videos, to get the repaired plunger back in the correct location. Partial reassembly to test operation, and ten minutes to reassemble. Works perfectly. Some notes about kit and repair process:Should come with a new rivet, not a cotter pin.On reassembly, you must turn the solenoid 90 degrees, and tilt it towards the back of the projector, to get the plastic finger (the part you replaced on the plunger) inserted into it's metal slot (the back notch must go in first) only mentioned in a couple of videos.Watch several videos before you begin. This is a very “fiddly” repair project with lots of wires to avoid breaking and tight spaces where your own hands and fingers block your vision. This repair would be much easier on one of the projectors lacking auto-focus, many fewer wires and no auto-focus mechanism and light in the way and no need for the replacement gears. Now having done one, the next one should take one to two hours on an auto-focus machine, and less than an hour on a manual focus unit.

Was able to kinda fix the projector. Slides will advance but not reverse. Probably not the fault of the repair kit. Definitely need skill and patience to install the parts. Hardest part of the repair was getting the new part into the solenoid slot. It was surprising how the original gears had disintegrated into crumbs. Video was very helpful. I couldn't have been able to make the repairs without it.

Watch one of the videos that shows you how to install these parts, it was extremely helpful. It made what appeared to be a difficult task much easier. The parts fit and it fixed this vintage slide projector..

I didn't realize that no tools came with this product -- just 4 miniscule plastic pieces and a like to download repair manual. The manual has a list of something like 12 tools needed to actually do the repair. Oops, this seems hopeless.
