When I was hooking it up as per the direction and common sense, when I attached the positive (red wire) for the system to be shut off remotely it completely burned up the wire and I assume everything within it like I had hooked it up wrong but I'm well aware of DC circuits and know how to hook things up properly. It was most definitely a manufacturer defect so be careful with these. I'm not saying all of them would be like this but this one was most definitely defective. It's not worth the hassle for it was inexpensive I guess u get what u pay for

This was very easy to install. I did make a few minor adjustments to it but still, easy to install and it works as it is advertised. I was having a battery drain issue on a 2008 Volvo S80 and had to jump the car every 2-3 days. With this, I have not had to jump the car in over a month! Love it. It is also a great anti-theft device as well.

So I have a battery draw on my car, apparently a pretty bad one too. It will drain my fully cjarged battery in about an hour. The battery is new and the alternator charges at 13.7 constantly. I don't have the time to track down the issue so I bought this remote battery kill switch. It doesn't take long at all to install nor os it difficult. Its actually quite easy and it works flawlessly, the best part... it's very inexpensive and the fob or small Keychain remote has the feel of quality with a nice and sleek design. You won't be disappointed in this purchase and even if you don't cc need it now, for the price, you might want to keep one in the glove box for when you do. That's all.

When we received thr box it came with small trifold instruction booklet with pictures. Hubby was able to figure out how to install it from pictures. I attempted to read the instructions to program the remotes and my head spun. It made no sense. There us supposed to be a "learn" button on the box but ours did not have one. We even took it off examined it with a microscope and determined we were not crazy and put it back on (with hopes to program remote) when we could not figure out how to program them hubby said just try them. They worked without having to program then. All together it took an hour start to finish but we took it off and back on. Plus hubby hands were freezing last night.I turned battery off last Night around 10pm. When I went out at 730pm to run errands the battery had a hard time starting. (Battery is 3 months old) i have made a couple stops so after it gets going it is good.I got this because someone I really do not trust stole my spare key.....New ignition lock cylinder $85New door locks $60Reprogram new PATS keys at dealership $150Towing car to dealership after changing ignition and door locks (aaa but might take forever)So decided to try this. Will update in few days. Also learn how to program or dial in stations because every time you use this it loses memory.
