I got this to replace a rubber-soled wading boot (an ill-fated experiment) for wading freestone streams in the southern Appalachians. This is not the grippiest felt sole I've ever worn, but much better than the rubber-soled boot it replaced. This is a very comfortable, well-built boot.Pros: I really like the big loops on the back. I know they are designed to help you pull on the boots, but they really come in handy to strap the boots to a backpack or daypack on a long hike. The boots are comfortable and fit true to size.Cons: the protrusions on the back of the boots are designed to help you take off the boots, but I've found that they tend to get wedged into rocks. More than once I've started to take a step forward and nearly stumbled because the back of the boots were wedged between rocks. Also, the speed lace hooks are very tight, and difficult to get the laces into.Overall, a good boot.
