I've kept composting bins for over 30 years so I know premium worms when I see them. These worms were delivered to my very cold Michigan state. They arrived very feisty and ready for a drink and some food. I was unable to find even one dead worm after several days in the mail. Detailed instructions included so even a beginning composter should have no problems keeping and raising a successful worm bin. Very, very happy with the worms! Thanks again!

Every bit of this purchase was a great experience. Even with the prep work to embark on a worm farm, I didn’t feel prepared enough the day I received my worms. However, the instructions included set my mind at ease that also laid out the expectations. It provided the security that even they my worms looked like a big ball of dead worm slime, they will loosen up and do their thing if you provide the correct environment and place them under light. I am so happy to report a month later, and my red wigglers are thriving!!! I will be purchasing a second order today for an additional bin!Thabm you!

Our worms began their journey on the 16th and we're delayed in shipping not arriving until the 23rd. We had near 100 degree days during that period and I was really concerned that I would be receiving a smelly dead mess of worms but MUCH to my surprise they were ALL alive and are thriving in their new home. I attribute the success of their ability to survive such harsh conditions to the excellent way they were packed with camps newspaper, a cold pack and wrapped in insulated bubble wrap. I'm very pleased with the quality and would highly recommend this company. One reason I chose to order from here was the fact that they claim to send only Red Wigglers as opposed to some companies that state they are sending a mix of species. As far as I can tell that claim appears to be correct. The worms appear to all be red wiggler. I would definitely order from them again should I need more worms in the future!

I will be updating this review if time allows. As others have stated, the vendor provides clear instructions. And as I expected and is stated the handout, the worms looked somewhat stressed, either not moving or moving a lot, and dry. The soil in which they arrived was indeed very dry, and I immediately watered them... with water that I an hour later found was too hard, with a pH of 8.0! I quickly corrected the pH to 6.0, watered them throughly - I think I used more water than what was recommended, but the weather is too dry these days here and the worms seemed unharmed by the alkalinity of the first few sprays and seemed to enjoy start moving in their new home. They seem hardy! I placed them in the compost I prepared a couple days ago, mainly with ground cardboard and kitchen scraps mixed together, and a tiny bit of organic feather and bone meal. I plan to slowly colonize the compost bin with bat guano, crab meal and various small amounts of organic amendments I can get my hands on. It is late Winter and from what I read it seems reasonable to expect a few gallons of very good castings by midsummer. Today is the next morning from the arrival. The worms seem to move more and are engorged compared to yesterday. Their color is not as dark as when they arrived, suggesting that they are getting hydrated and probably starting to get the food they need. Some worms have genuinely 4+ inches and move comfortably on the surface if the compost bin is in shadow. I see a few young ones, and some with a large, colored clitellum (that bulb near the head) which indicates the worms are ready for or already reproducing. It seems like an exciting journey for me and them! Thanks for such simple yet fascinating little thingies inside this cloth bag! The experience is well worth the money!

I would have given a 5 star yet there were earth worms mixed in with the red wigglers. I used them anyway but would prefer just the red wigglers. Maybe it was just a rough earthworm or two. . Well packaged, moist soil and teaming with live worms.
