Beautiful, sounds great but multiple problems may cost more to fix than cost of instrument. All fret ends razor sharp. Action way too high at bridge, Strings catch needs bridge and saddle work. Keeping it tuned to D instead of E until can find setup person. Does sound and look great but tough to play. No cutaway, 12 frets to body instead of 14. If can do setup yourself fine, but don't use truss rod, almost all problems will be in frets, fingerboard, tuners, saddle, bridge etc. I ruined my favorite guitar by trying to adjust neck with truss rod, and it broke the neck. This guitar was obviously damaged. It had neck repair done, and it was glued. It smelled like glue, and it plays like crap.

I've been on a search for the best value, short scale, 12-fret parlor guitars. My two main criteria––are the bridge and saddle positioned properly so that the guitar's intonation is accurate at the 12th fret? How is the fret finish. The particular example of the Recording King Dirty 30 Parlor guitar has issues with both intonation and fret finish.Intonation: The bridge appears to be glued down too far back from the headstock. This makes the string length too long at the 12th fret, and yep, the guitar is flat, on all strings, by about 8 cents (average, varies from 6-10 cents flat). This could be corrected by taking a Dremel tool, file or X-Acto knife and open the saddle slot at the front side, moving the bridge forward, and putting a shim on the back side. But slot at the high E end is already pretty close to the forward edge of saddle and there's not much saddle material left to remove. The plastic saddle is already is molded with "string forward" position, so replacing the plastic saddle won't shorten the string length. So this guitar will going to play 6-10 cents flat without a lot of work.Frets––some of the sharpest fret ends I've ever encountered and a "gritty" lack of polish feel. This is fairly typical of guitars in this price range and I usually do a full fret level (Stew Mac I-beam tool), crown, polish to get the frets to feel like a professional instrument. This instrument would be no exception––there are 5 or 6 frets below the 12th fret that are high when checked with the Stew Mac "3 fret" gauge. These could be individually filed down but if I'm gonna do 6 frets I'd rather do all of them and do the job right.Nut––Was cut perfectly! A surprise.Summary? Not playable, for me anyway, out of the box and needs a lot of work. This is probably going back. I'm waiting on an Ibanez Open Pore 12-fret parlor guitar, it will be interesting to compare the intonation and frets of this Recording King to the Ibanez.Btw, the way I have a Gretsch Jim Dandy that I love, but it too needed a full fret level, crown and polish. Lovely player with D'Addario Silk and Steel 11-47 strings.

Preciosa guitarra y precioso sonido, sí suena mejor en acordes abierto y es perfecta y práctica para llevarla a cualquier lado.Todo el mundo habla bien de su estética

This is my 2nd purchase of a Recording King 0 parlor guitar. The QA was pretty bad on this one; 10th fret was way high, all frets had sharp ends & the action was too low. It took about an hour and a half to correct the 10th fret, adjust the truss rod and dress frets. This is stuff that should have been checked at the factory before shipping. Still a great sounding little blues box at a great price once it's squared away. But if you don't do your own guitar work, you may need to pay another hundred or so to get there.

This is a great guitar for the money has a nice clean tone. This is made in the tradition of the 60s silvertones and Honer guitars. I play a lot of old time country music. And the sound is just what I'm looking for. If you play tRock or pop or newer country get yourself a Martin or Taylor. But for what I want its perfect. Like anything else right tool for the job.

the frets pop out easily and on there own. I've had mine 2 months and trying to figure out warranty nfo now and I'm kind of wishing I bought it from Guitar Center so I could just take it over to them today. i want it fixed because its very awsome. sounds great, easy to press strings down, looks cool, good size since I'm moving up, or on, from ukulele. So Im going all 5's except for craftmanship which is a 3.

Guitar looks great, it plays just okay, it needs a setup out of the box. Strings do not look bad, stays in tune fairly well. It just sounds kind of cheap, not thin sounding, but basically cheap, almost like a toy in a way. It's not a toy, but I expected it to sound better.
