Beanbag is nice. The unit stays in my lap where I put it. The light however, takes 3 batteries. No one sells a pack of 3 rechargeable batteries.

This works great when in bed or sitting on the couch reading a book. The angle is perfect and the arms that holds the pages do not leave indents in the pages. The light works well also there's a few different settings for it

I have multiple lap desks and this one is the best, by far! It is extremely high quality and profoundly satisfying to use. I can comfortable read my large print books in a dark room! Wow! The pillow makes it comfortable on my lap while the sturdy construction holds my heavy books at great comfort! I could not be more happy with this, slightly expensive, but so well worth it!

The lapdesk is perfect for reading, with the book holders that keep the book in place. I can also keep my pen and phone on the desk, for easy access. Sometimes I only use the left book clamp when reading, to position the book without interfering with my page turning. I also like using this with my lap top or when writing or eating, when I'm in bed or in a chair and need a flat surface. The pillow on the bottom is great. It's filled with foam beads that are little larger than grains of sands. It's fun to push and knead it. Very soothing and very comfortable when I sit it on top of my legs to use the desk. It doesn't put unwanted pressure on my body. And when flying, I put the lapdesk down flat on my tray table and lay on the cushiony part like it's a pillow. The only problem with that is you have to make sure the surfaces you use it on are clean or covered, because you can't just throw the lapdesk into a washing machine. The book light clamps on and felt like an after thought. It is cheaper plastic and uses batteries. I eventually replaced it with a USB charged book light that affixes more sturdily.

I picked this up for my husband. He spends a lot of time reading and gravitates to nonfiction history and biographies. These have two things in common…..they are usually thick & almost too heavy to hold AND they usually have tiny print.Unfortunately, as we’re getting older it’s harder to hold heavy objects and our eyes don’t work well with tiny print and/or dim light.I saw this and immediately knew he needed this for reading. He can sit in his recliner and put this in his lap where it holds the book at a perfect height (and can hold his page if he needs to get up) and there’s a nice little clamp on light if it’s too dim for him. We’ve had other lap desk products in the past but what makes this a standout is how THICK the cushion is. It really raises the book up high enough. This also works great with an iPad. So far I’ve haven’t been able to come up with a way (tried many different cases) to hold my iPad in my lap and work at the right height. Now, I’ve found this. It’s perfect. Hubby is going to have to share or buy me one for Christmas. This is a bit expensive, but the quality is good.If there’s a Black Friday sale I’ll be jumping on this to get them for several people I know.

Not only am I a college student, I am an “old” college student and sitting at a desk for hours reading or working on an assignment wrecks havoc in my back and neck. So I was looking for a lap desk so I can sit in my recliner with my feet elevated. This lap desk elevates my book or laptop enough, my neck is not being strained. This is the Cadillac of book desks. The “desk” is made of wood instead of plastic like many are, which I appreciate. But it’s also easy to clean. The pillow is thick, made of stretchy material and filled with bean bag filler material making it comfortable on your legs especially when in shorts. The pillow is also removable, which I have not tried to remove. A feature I haven’t seen on other lap desk’s is the metal clips on the bottom at for holding your page. I just came from the park where I was reading my textbook while my son played and the wind kept blowing my pages making me lose my place. This lap desk would be ideal to use outdoors when windy. A added feature this lap desk has is a slot to prop up your phone or tablet. The light clips on the top, is bendable, has three options for color and brightness but requires 3-AAA batteries, which I don’t have but has a place to charge which the light will work if plugged into the charger without batteries. But as soon as I unplug, it cuts off. Not really sure what good it does to have a place to charge if it doesn’t charge. Most things like this today, have the ability to be charged. This is my only complaint about this lap desk. Otherwise I think it’s great and I see myself getting lots of use out of it. That said, even as much as I like it, and love the features, the price tag of $54.88 is pretty high. I most I can see paying is $30. Being the light doesn’t charge and the price being very high, I removed one star.
