My son loves to take walks at the local parks and pick up trash as he is walking. He takes these tongs along to pick up the trash and he says that they work well and are easy to use. He would recommend these over the ones that have the little trigger that you pull back that activates the clamp on the end to close as he has gone through a few of those. These seem to be sturdier and more functional.

Holds up to a couple lbs of weight OK. Good for your basic cleaning up around the house/park. Worried the green plastic will snap eventually and the black foam handle feels like trash / packing material. Needs some workshopping or a price cut.

I needed a way to pick up a few scattered leaves that were in our horses' paddock. Bending, with my back, was not an option. This tool worked well for my needs.

Bought this Grabber Tool to replace a cheap “clam shell” grabber tool, previously purchased that broke after a year. This tool is strong and sturdy enough to pick up twigs and small branches, as well as weeds that I’ve cleared from flower beds to put in my yard cart. This tool saves my back from bending and twisting and saves steps that need reduced with having bad knees. It’s the perfect, or best, tool that suits my needs over others that I’ve tried in the past.

Would give 5 stars, but I wish the spring that opens the tongs was stronger. It doesn't return to open position that strongly. This is the best product for picking up feces from gravel!

We live in NC, in the land of the Long Leaf Pine tree. I order stuff from Amazon 8-12 times per month, but I almost never write product reviews. Having wasted probably $200 over the past 4 years on yard tongs that break quickly, are poorly designed, or just can't take a beating, I feel compelled to write this one.I fill a 1-yard compost bin almost every week with pine cones, sticks, and magnolia leaves, EACH retrieved from the ground with a set of yard tongs. I've been doing this for about 4 years, and I've gone through about a dozen different yard tongs......until now. NOW, I have a set that I'm confident will last for life. NO PLASTIC GEARS to strip. NO FLIMSY ARMS to get misaligned when I ram the sticks into my bucket to break them down. NO WEIRD, NON-ERGONOMIC grips that force you to change hands every five minutes, just to avoid muscle cramps. These things are PERFECT !!! In every conceivable way. They are lightweight. They have no gears to strip. They have the perfect tips for grabbing everything from magnolia leaves to 3" sticks. And they seem to have been designed specifically for grabbing the ENORMOUS pine cones that come off a Long Leaf Pine.Save time, money, and aggravation and just buy these things. I wish I'd had a product review like this one before I wasted money on my first, second, third...........set.

My current favorite grabber. This thing is light and has a large cushioned grip surface. The arms are made of square aluminum tubing. The jaws are galvanized steel. The use feels very natural like it is a pure extension of your hand. Hardly any fatigue using it.The jaws are attached with rivets, which is good since you would easily be able to reattach them if needed with a bolt even if you don’t have a rivet tool. This design makes the rivet the failure point, should you accidentally do something which would have broken the grabber. I count this as a perk. I foresee having this a long time and repairability is a plus. My first one was damaged in transit, looked like the box had been crushed by something very heavy, and the only item broken was the jaws from the arms. The rivets gave way and nothing else looked damaged. I only sent it back because one of the jaws fell out of the box so I only had a single jaw.You can easily do precision pickups like coins on hard surfaces and the teeth on the jaws work great for gripping. It will lift surprisingly heavy items with ease.Just remember these are technically tongs, so you are required to do a couple “test clicks” before use.
