This rain chain is absolutely gorgeous and made very, very well. It's truly 8 feet long and features a heavy duty weight with beautiful patinaed flowers and chain. This has to be one of the prettiest rain chains I've ever seen and now it's mine, yay! I've always wanted one and couldn't be happier with this choice.The water collects and moves down the chain when it rains creating a beautiful waterfall effect I can see from my living room window. The chain seconds as a water reserve for birds and insects to safely drink from.I'm so happy with this gorgeous chain and totally recommend!

I got this rain chain to replace a downspout that kept falling and so far it is great. It functions well, but you do need to make sure that the area that it is draining into has a slight grade away from your house so it flows the right direction. I love the flower petal shape and copper patina look, which goes well with the color scheme of our house. It's a much cuter addition than an unsightly traditional downspout. It is much more affordable than most of the other rain chains I have seen at local stores, so that is much appreciated. The only thing I don't love, which is totally personal preference, is the bell. Luckily it is pretty quiet so far but I prefer no sound (FWIW I'm not a windchime gal either). Overall pleased with this product!

I love everything about this rain chain! It is pretty and it sounds nice in the rain. I thought it would be small, but it is large enough to see and hear. It is supposed to hang where the rainwater comes down too strong off the roof to slow it down. I put it in a tree, so I can see it from my window. It is very long, 8 1/2 feet to hang from the roof and reach near the ground. I'm delighted with this product. Recommended.

I have several rain chains, a different style for each downspout. (Rain chains tend to not clog with leaves, needles, and cones the way downspouts can.) So far, this design is my new favorite.The cup design, with petals/leaves spreading outward, allows each cup to catch the maximum amount of stray water droplets. I hung this rain chain up on a tree limb to test it, then poured a bucket of water down it. It caught and successfully directed almost all the water. Who needs downspouts?!Unlike other designs where the cups can be spaced as much as a foot apart, by contrast these cups are spaced about 2 to 3 inches apart, providing maximum flow control and coverage.So yes, they are very functional. They are also well made, and look awesome. They are by far the most intricate and interesting of our rain chains.UPDATE: Today I replaced our previous rain chains at the front of our house with these new ones. They are just too pretty to not be displayed prominently. But after standing back and staring at them a bit, I felt they looked too rigid, cold and lifeless. So I tried gently bending back some of the petals, and wow!! what a difference! Adding a gentle curve to some or all of the petals really takes it to a whole new level, making it feel more delicate and natural.Oh, and by the way, the rain chain has a bell at the end, just in case the water needs to get your attention.

This chain has more weight to them and do not get tossed around in the wind. I love watching the water drop from the gutter through each cup and down to the ground. There is even a nice little bell at the bottom. This does not come with a gutter adapter and I had to mail order one since the local store does not stock them. The leafy flower cup design and the color of this also fits our yard and style. These are definitely a step up from the basic rain chains.
