Ordered this and tried both of them and neither of them stick or even prevent sliding on the dash. The radar detector slides on top of the mat and the mat slides all over the dash.

I’ve purchased this model in the past and they were great. They have now made them super skinny and not sticky. They don’t stick to dash well anymore. Just seems like they really cheeped out . The material is about an 1/5th the thickness and doesn’t hold my radar detector at all, nor does it stick to the dash. Whenever I take a corner it just slides around, and it’s not like it is dirty as this started occurring from day one install

Surprised they work that good and no residue. Never moved

I didn't want to attach my Cobra radar detector to the window but my dashboard is curved. This mat was perfect to keep my detector in place on my dashboard and make it easy to remove if I want to hide it or change the settings. I have made several hard stops and it doesn't budge at all.

I bought this to use with a small, lightweight SSD (about the size & weight of maybe about three stacked credit cards). The first time I attached it to the lid of a laptop, and then the SSD to the mat, with the laptop open, the SSD fell off after a couple of minutes. So that's the reason for the 3-star grade. I reattached it, making sure to press firmly, and it's stuck now for a few days. If you were using this on a near-horizontal, non-moving flat surface (like an automobile dashboard) probably no worries. Not sure it's a good semi-permanent solution on a surface that moves back & forth from the vertical, no matter how light the object, but time will tell.

This is so easy to use; it never slips. I use them in both cars. I would never go back to suction cups on the windshield.
