Did not come with pendulum, so I had to improvise, but that's my fault for not noticing that fact in the description. The movement sounds great, they really have improved over older models.

Item as described works fine, the pendulum and clock mechanism can be separated, if you don't need the pendulum. The chimes sound quite nice.

Works well but the sound is Warbly, as if they added a vibrato to the tones.NOTE: Do NOT use carbon batteries as the directions instruct, or you will be changing batteries every two months.

Ammended Review: This is absolute junk. The chimes un-synced from the clock. AGAIN. Again for the third time. A clock with chimes that don't stay synchronized with the correct time is useless. Wasted money, I will look for a brand name unit that actually works correctly. It is really irritating.Liked: It does keep time well. I like the chimes when they actually work.Disliked: No instructions make it hard to setup. I ended up putting the hands on to match the chime. Then setting the time.Even then the hour chime became un-synced from the hands after a month or so.The mute at night function sometimes does not mute and it chimes at 3am.I dread having to go through the setup process again when the batteries die.

What was to be a great item turned out bad..... Clock keeps running fast and I dont find the volume as loud as it should be, Not happy but its installed so wont take the time to return.

I like this unit. I needed something that would swing a heavy pendulum and it does. The pendulum for my clock is 12 inches long and has a three- and one-half inch diameter bob. Swings it with authority. The chimes are OK. Wife says it sounds like a doorbell. I like the four chime choices. I installed it about two weeks ago and it is still right on time.
