I like aluminum handguards. Only downside is they can get hot. This offering is too small. It has a synthetic canvas cover. Too thin. I sew jackets, bags, holsters. For $20 I was able to make six nicer wraps. If you do not sew, try to find someone who does. Product way over priced for what you get. The leather ones are even worse. Go to fabric store. Buy a yard of heavy felt and a yard of synthetic canvas. Order a roll of one or two inch black velcro. I just go with a double thickness of felt. If this doesn't work I will make a few with more felt layers. I made the wraps 9-10 inches long. I will see how they work. I might make a few cutouts so air can circulate.

I got this for a Ruger MPR AR-15 rifle with metal M-LOK handguard along its length. This wrap was nearly too big to wrap (6.25" circumference), with velcro barely overlapping and ends hanging out. It is going to work but anything smaller probably won't. It feels good and is better than holding bare metal.I was skeptical of heat handling so I put soldering iron at 460F on inside and pressed from outside with my finger right on tip. It took 40 seconds before outside started getting hot. Inside showed NO damage, no melting, was still velvety smooth. Made of fiberglass? Outside did start to melt when I put iron tip directly on it.Measuring, this would handle 6.25"-8.5" circumference, with edge values having little velcro overlap. Having it go through a loop and back reduces range and creates loose ends hanging out. A design with velcro on both sides would have handled a wider range of circumferences and had no loose ends.

My wife is active military, currently deployed somewhere in the desert in the Middle East, poor thing!She is holds her Military Marksman badge, so she can definitely handle both herself and her rifles.We both own several rifles. I use a front hand grip on mine, but hers being AR "pistol", she understandably does not want to add weight or, further obstruction to the shorter rail of this rifle.So, getting her this rail cover provides her tiny hands with more grip and better protection from any potential heat injuries.Some buyers may be a little put off by the price. But, if you take the time to watch the great video on the makers Amazon web page, I think that you will be fairly impressed with the materials used, that I personally feel, more than justifies this price.You may also want to consider very carefully, where you may want to place this jacket on your rifle, in relation to any other accessories that you may have. Do you even have the room?

This is a decent wrap to protect your hand from a hot barrel. It does what it says though I never got the barrel super hot.I took off one star because this wrap has two issues:1. It is too large. I tried this on multiple hand guards and while it fit many, it was two big for others.2. The straps and hook and loop is too short.If the straps were both longer and if the hook and loop, particularly the loop portion you could make the wrap smaller by folding it over itself solving both of my issues above. I will possibly try and sow on some more loop sections to give this a try.I do also feel this is a tad bit expensive at the listed price of $26. I feel it would be better at $15-$20. But if this is what you need, I can recommend it.

Decent attempt, but the velcro straps are way too long and interfere with the grip. It's 50/50 if it's useful. You could cut the straps, but it will probably look jenky...

the grippy texture on the shotgun is to say the least for me not smooth but the rail wrap makes it easier for everyone to handle the gun without issues. Great product easy to put on makes the gun more enjoyable to handle. The grippy texture was making me go sour on the gun but not now. Highly recommend.
