I have an Aventon-with hub motor lead exiting brake side so I'm not sure it will fit over a hub motor connector if yours exits on the freewheel (geared) side. Still, only one that worked for me for moving a freewheel. The Aventon with the 12mm axles (10mm flats) make it super close to get over the axle but inside the freewheel. For this tool, thin wall was a very big PLUS. Tool was great for the price-I'm not a bike shop.....

The tool worked perfectly and price was reasonable. I probably won’t use it again but it definitely made the install quick.

Mine broke on the FIRST use! It fits Shimano cassettes—I’ll give it that. If yours is assembled with very, very light friction, perhaps yours will work without breaking. It seems to be sintered metal—not forged like, well, all hand tools.

Didn’t get destroyed by me abusing it trying to get the old (original) cassette off: only had crescent wrench. Hammered on the wrench- no result, applied pipe over wrench handle to get more leverage. Finally got it off. Used it to screw on new casserole although could have done that by hand.

You might have a modern cassette lock ring tool that looks like this, but it won’t work on old school Shimano and Sunrace freewheels like this tool fits. I like to apply aluminum anti-seize compound to the hub threads and then use this tool to make sure the freewheel screws without any binding both clockwise and counterclockwise at the start to prevent cross-threading and ruining the hub threads (a very common novice mistake).

Definitely a cheap metal material… but it gets the job done. One day shipping came in clutch with this one. Perfect if you need it fast or if you’re in a pinch. Worked for both sram and my Shimano rear cassettes. Make sure you have a chain whip!
