Finally I had the chance to use the tile cutter and was pleasantly surprised that it worked much better than the one I was using before.Excellent tool !

I tried on a 24 inch porcelain tile, every cut is a perfect cut except the very first one. Very quick, very clean -- much more clean than wet saw (and this is the main reason I look for a manual cutter). There are some lessons:1) Cannot press the middle or any part away from the end point, you will crack the tile, 100%. Only press the very end part of the tile.2) Cannot cut one side too narrow (less than 1 inch in width) and other side is too wide. The press is about 2 inches wide it will not apply any pressure on tile strip narrow than 0.8 inch.Other than these, I can say every cut is a perfect cut. Comparing to wet saw, you save a lot of time, and save a lot of effort to clean thereafter.

I bought this snap cutter on a warehouse deal. it came in a slightly tattered box but otherwise looked new. It cut my 12 x 24" tiles with no issues at all. For the 75 dollars that it cost, it was a good deal. I am very happy with the cuts that I am getting. It is sooooo much better than my cheap wet saw and so much faster!

I needed a tile cutter to refurbish a main bathroom and install an en-suite WC/shower room - about 160 porcelain tiles, 300 x 600 x 9mm. I didn't want to pay for a top brand so wanted something good enough to cope with a heavy duty DIY job but within a budget - this fit the the bill for price and looked to be good construction, despite some negative reviews. I'm pleased to say I wasn't disappointed.Out of the - rather battered - box it arrived in, everything looked OK. The cutter is assembled, except for the adjustable angle guide (of dubious practicality) and ready to cut.In use - the tile cutter copes with 9mm tiles very well, both across tiles and lengthwise. There is a 'knack' or degree of dexterity in using this type of cutter effectively. Generally, one score should be adequate for short cuts or the main length of a cut, but I've found nicking the end parts of the cut with an extra small score helps to avoid the corners chipping. The side bars that hinge out to support tiles are useful when scoring, but I have found that they should NOT be used when breaking the tile. It seems that the edge support is unnecessary and actual contributes to the cut corner chipping because of the angle the tile is presented to the breaker. So my recommendation (YMMV): support when scoring but fold out of the way to allow an uninterrupted break. With a little experience (say, 20-25 cuts) the cut edge is straight enough to be smoothed with a fine grit stone and used on a grout line. With some care, it's possible to cut a narrow strip down to 20mm - I wouldn't expect to score/break a 9mm tile less than this. You won't get the exact 90 degree smooth edge of a diamond disc, but this type of tile cutter produces no waste and if you don't see the tile edges, it's not an issue.I'm really pleased with the performance and value - it's done the job and will be there for any future projects when needed. Seems to use a fairly standard 22mm cutting wheel so should be easy to refit in the unlikely situation it becomes worn.

So much faster than a wet saw and works great with 24" tiles. You can't easily snap off a 1" or less section with this but for larger cuts it's well worth the money. Works as advertised. Buy a couple practice tiles before you get started as there's some finesse needed with the scoring that takes a bit to get used to.

This was my first time tiling a floor and I didn’t feel comfortable using a wet saw. Using this made it cleaner and easy to do. Some of the smaller cuts weren’t as smooth, but it still worked and those pieces will be under the threshold cover anyway. All in all pretty happy with the results.

Having read lots of reviews it seemed hard to find a really good tile cutter. Lots had 3/5 ratings. Saw a good review of this product on a tiling website and decided to go for it. Very happy with the results. Like all things, practice makes perfect and we did have 2 broken tiles but this was due to insufficient pressure whilst scoring and too much pressure when breaking. The snapping action requires a progressive squeeze of pressure rather than a sharp stab! All other tiles cut well and we're happy with the results. Have owned a cheap tile cutter in the past and it was worse than useless. Accept that you need to spend decent money on one... More specifically THIS one!

I've used others in this price point and this falls slightly short. I remodel kitchens and bathrooms a couple times a year. The main problem I have is the center is too high, making your snap uneven. This along with the wings which seem to me mostly useless make me want to spend a little extra on the next model up (which I've used on a job before)If you have a few bathrooms or kitchens to do, this will get you by, but I'll eventually be buying something different

This made quick work of straight cuts. I already had a tile saw; but the cuts from this were both cleaner and faster than using the saw. I did about 400 square feet of tile, and the thing still looks and works like brand new. I used both matte glazed porcelain tile and high-gloss (glass-like) tile (as well as a bit of actual glass trim) and the cutter worked with all of it. Like I said, I already had a tile saw but bought this anyway, and I'm very glad I did. This was my first choice for cutting tile -- I only used the saw when a cut was too complex for this cutter. You need to use it correctly. More scoring is *NOT* better: one solid, clean, continuous score. Don't stop, don't go back and don't redo it. Do it once correctly and then snap it. 95% of the time it will snap clean and easy. Thin cuts (where the cut is, say, 1/2" or less from the edge) can get dicey: sometimes the snap won't stay in the score. If the thin area is what you're cutting away, you can usually clean up the extra bit with the saw. If you *want* the thin bit, use the saw from the beginning. Compound cuts will need the saw, though I would usually cut the short cut with the saw and score and snap the long cut.In short, this tool was fast and smooth to use. Recommended, even if you already have a tile saw.

Looks good and many reviews state it works well. It does not snap 12x24 floor tile cleanly. Works ok on thinner tiles but not floor tiles as they are thicker. Disappointed. I bought but did not use for a month now the return window has closed. Don't wait to try/use it. Shame on Amazon. No more internet purchases. Buy from a local store for more protection.
