I found this cutter to be difficult to grasp for glass cutting, which was its intended purpose for me. I haven't cut tile, so I assume the product is more geared toward that effort. Otherwise, the product is of high quality, except for the gloves, which are too soft and thin--maybe these are meant for tile cutting, too...? For glass, I prefer heavy duty leather gloves.

This is device basically for scoring and breaking the tiles. It works best work medium size tiles. You need to scores tile proper and then break. Watch some videos to get an idea. However with a design putting both the scoring handle and the breaking in one handle it's not very convenient. I will put the scoring bits into some other handle for better ergonomics. This will make straight breaks in medium size tiles fine but for very small or non-linear breaks you might have use other methods.Overall for the price it's ok for many use case, still needs some practice to do it right.

Having tried and abandoned likely every glass cutter known ...Success at last — and goodbye to framing shame.Laid down some cardboard on my workbench and used a wooden yardstick as a straight edge (versus metal). Not sure if that made a difference regarding the glass "harmonics" of the initial score, but heretofore during epic fails I've used metal.Cleaned, marked the "back" side of the glass, flipped it, generously oiled the line, then scored the 1/8" glass once with medium to well done pressure. (Had some honing oil at hand so used that; thought it might be too viscous but slathered it on anyway.)After the score, I carefully slid the glass about 4 inches over the edge of my workbench and positioned the pressure posts part of the tool over the score line as instructions show, then with great trepidation (eye roll at the ready), very slowly began to tighten the blue handle.Within about a second, the glass broke quietly and evenly (no audible snap — just a whisper like a snake on an ice skating pond), following the score mark exactly.Alone in my studio, I called my cat in to celebrate. Even he was impressed.
