After buying one of these from another seller that arrived with a dead/weak Blu-ray laser, I decided to give this one a try. It cost less too. Not sure why the ratings are so low because it was Prime and arrived pretty fast…more importantly it worked absolutely perfect! It’s a bit of luck what you could receive though since these almost always come from junked PS3 slims, but you’re chances are pretty good for success if pulled from a PS3 that had some other type of problem unrelated to the laser. Kudos to this seller for sending out a fully working unit, glad I ignored the rating and gave this one a try. My PS3 now reads Blu-ray discs quickly & correctly, and because the Blu-ray laser is used to ID the disc type, properly switches to the other lasers and CD’s/DVD’s read perfectly too!

This was a perfect match to my ailing ps3 installed in a short amount of time and the ps3 was back up and running. Just remember to switch the rubber grommets.
