If your for PS3 will not turn on at all and you don't even see the red light on the front of the system, this part may be all you need. you can change it with this newer power supply model which does not got hot. The best way to check is that you open your for PS3, make sure it's the same one. Our power supply replacement is easy part to fit, the installation takes about 10 minutes. You don't need any special tools to fit the part, you can do the job with just two screwdrivers.

So this item was described as new, but was definitely a used one. I'm super happy though! It was a different model # than the one I took out but seems to make my ps3 work again. The weird thing is that when it got here it had tape all over it from where it had been opened and inspected by homeland security. Lol. I guess they thought it was a bomb! It is the bomb to me, my ps3 has been out of commission for at least a year and now I can finally play my favorite games again! Thanks!EDIT- just about 4 hours of play no problems. Now it is shutting of after maybe 20 mins of a game. I have replaced the thermo paste and it is still doing it. No longer happy :(
