The key gage is off by one digit. The factory stamped key reads 43567, Using the key gage it reads 54678

This gauge is OFF BY ONE DIGIT. This is a TERRIBLE PRODUCT. I am so glad I checked it first by using a key that had the factory code stamped on it. The test key was stamped "52534", and the gauge read "63645". I was able to use it to gauge an unstamped key, but ONLY BECAUSE I TESTED it first, and added "1" to each measurement from the gauge. Buy one that is correct in the first place!
