Andersen screens have an unusual (aka not sold at Home Depot or Lowe’s) size and these fit perfectly. Just look online for tutorials on taking the old one out (you have to “break” this one little metal piece that doesn’t really affect anything).

Looked all over for this. I have a house from the 1970s that has the crank windows with aluminum screens. The spline inside the screen is a square piece of aluminum as well. This spline is exactly what you need if you have these windows. Just make sure when installing to not make the screen too snug or else is will pull the frame in and the little triangles that slide out to hold the screen in the frame won’t connect to frame. I normally put the screen in, test it in window, then cut the excess.

Recently moved into a new home with anderson windows.Damn these window replacement accessories are expensive!Especially since taking ownership - all the screens have holes due to normal wear and tear over the years...One of the the screens actually had the factory retainer misssing.. so I broke out the micrometer - measured the thickness of the retainer channel and came up with the quarter inch thickness and voila found this spline.I have successfully replaced the screens and checked off one of the Honey Do list items for little to no cost - unless you count my blood sweat and tears.. which my wife feels is worth $0.

The overall quality of this spline is good. It is thicker than most of the similar products available but this was to replace an Anderson screen which has a metal spline in place and requires a thicker spline. Ease of use was semi difficult most likely due to my arthr. Overall it’s worth the expense because a new screen from the factory costs 10x what it cost to replace the torn screen.

I learned to use this to tie things down when I worked for an on-site screen-making company. We never used this type of spline except to tie stuff to the truck (we used stiff polyethylene T-spline for the screens). I now use it to tie things to the roof rack of my car. It has more stretch and pull than bungie cord. It doesn't stretch to a point and stop; it just gets tighter and tighter. It's very strong, but if you think you need something stronger, you can use rope, then use this to finish the job so things don't move around. However, I would just double up on the spline for more strength.
