This type of lock and keeper has excellent cam-acting sealing characteristics with the thumb lever drawing the lock tight to the keeper. Each package contains 1 lock and 1 keeper and the necessary mounting hardware for a quick and easy installation.

Upon receipt, the latch was out of its original packaging and the white paint was chipped. Replacement was shipped and received timely but the same problem. The second latch was out of its original packaging and the paint was chipped. The actual latch work works, but it is unsightly due to the paint.

I got the right one because someone said to look at the window from the outside and that's how you determined if you need a Left or a Right one. It did come a little scratched, but it wasn't a big deal for me. My original one had 4 screws this one has two holes, fit perfectly. Glad I didn't have to cut the wood frame. Up is unlocked, bottom locked.

Easy and affordable replacement for the existing old-coloring part... 4 stars because it does have some small chips in the paint down to the bare metal, but something that I can live with and just put a few dabs of touch-up gloss white.

La qualité de peinture est très médiocre sur un des deux mécanismes que j'ai acheté. Les défauts de peinture sont facilement visible à 2 mètres sur le premier. Le deuxième a des défauts de peinture visibles à 1 mètre. Par contre, les mécanismes fonctionne bien.

Before unpacking it the sash lock looked nice, but then I unpacked it and at a closer look noticed that there were many chips in the white paint. It was black in these spots. On top of that, it was short a white screw since it only came with 1 instead of two. Low quality, between the many chips in the white paint and missing a white screw. Disappointing!

The photos of the right and left hand models shown on the Amazon web pages could have been made using either hand model simply moving it's latch to open or close. Determining the hand model can ONLY be determined by looking at the internal mechanism within each sash lock. If you are not certain which hand lock you need, I'd suggest buying one of each to avoid tearing up the packaging. Instead don't open the packages, just look into the side of each lock package and compare the internal mechanisms. with the lock you are replacing.Google suggest looking at the latch from outside the window, just how you get out there to look from , very well might endanger your life, especially if the window is up on the building's fifth story level.Travlinbob
