U-bolts feature machine threading on both arms and are designed to be inserted into two pre-drilled holes. They are primarily used to anchor cylindrical objects such as pipe, conduit, cable, tubing, round bar or rope. In some applications, U-bolts may be inserted into wet concrete with the threaded arms pointing up. Once the concrete sets around the "U" shaped end, the U-bolt will be firmly anchored into place and the protruding threaded tips can be used to attach objects to the concrete.

If you want to print a Firebolt lower and are in search of the U-bolt for the buffer this is what you need. I used a Dremel to remove a little material from the inside and the outside top of the U to allow for the buffer tube threads and charge handle to clear.

These will indeed fit over 3/4" pipe which measures about 1-1/16 inches OD. They are what is described a light U-bolt but perfect for my project.

This part number is advertised as 1 1/8 inch. UBolts are measured inside to inside. These measure 15/16 opening at the threaded ends. Would have to be bent to open up to 1 1/8

Did not fit 3/4" pipe as advertised. Had to heat and re-bend to make fit. Heating removed zink coating. Not very happy with u-bolts.
