These are slightly more expensive than traditional through bolts, but they are very good quality and will likely save enough time to pay for themselves on the first job. Place the auger bit on the end of the bolt, drill through and drive the bolt through in one step. Brilliant design.The bolt assembly is hot dipped galvanized, suitable for use in pressure treated lumber. Exceptional GRK quality, as you would expect. If you need through bolts and have a lot of them to install, this is the kit to get.

I feel like this GRK through-bolt/auger combo is a cool idea that really isn't solving a huge problem and might cause bigger problems. The bolts are the usual extremely well-made GRK fasteners with very thick galvanizing. I'm just going to assume that they exceed every rating and certification that GRK always does. The clever thing with these is the auger bit that lets you skip the step of pre-drilling holes for these fasteners. I tried it, and it worked great, but it could be a disaster if you run into a problem where the auger gets stuck, runs into something, or even just runs out the other side. The auger is just held in to the end of the fastener by friction. When you run it through 6in of timber, it gets hot, so once it gets out the other side, you need to be ready to grab a hot, sharp, turning thing that can grab a glove and twist your hand off. If you have to back this out, then you could be in trouble and lose the auger buried in the timber. I like this while it works, but worry about the colossal headache that it could cause.

I'm using these through bolts on a deck project, specifically at the post-beam connection. These are high-quality bolts from GRK. The box includes (24) 1/2" x x7" bolts (with integrated washers), (24) nuts, and (24) individual washers. A drill bit is also included which attaches to the end of each bolt to allow for drilling and pushing the bolt through at the same time. I've had no issues with these GRK fasteners over the years. They're great!

It was my first time using these and they are a MEGA TIME SAVER to say the least. It is a great idea and when time is money......... these are well worth the cost.They bore quickly and as expected. The bolts themselves are standard galvanized bolts and fit the 6 inches I needed for my project.Pricey.... BUT... worth itA Must Try!.Highly Recommended.

These wood securing fasteners work excellent. They tighten down very strong and our structural as well. They provide a sense of security while doing the job great.

GRK is a well known brand and these bolts verify why.I had to make some 6x6 post connections and these worked great. Instead of buying a Bosch auger bit I was able to just buy this kit and be done. Straight and well balanced.Would recommend if you can snag at a price of under $8 a bolt including the drill bit.

I always trust GRK fasteners for any heavy duty work, and a lot of projects I work with specifically call for them by name. These are BIG bolts, make sure that you have an application to use them, they're heavy duty. The integrated washer and auger bit that fits on the front means you can drill and install in one motion. This streamlines the install process and save time, which is huge.
