I recently purchased the Prestige 3L Alpha Deluxe Induction Base Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker, and it has become an indispensable tool in my kitchen. The 3-liter capacity is perfect for preparing meals for a small family, accommodating various dishes with ease. Its compatibility with both induction and gas cooktops adds to its versatility. The pressure indicator is a thoughtful safety feature, providing a clear visual cue when it’s safe to open the cooker. Additionally, the controlled gasket-release system offers an extra layer of safety by releasing steam in case of any blockage. The stainless steel construction not only adds to its durability but also gives it a sleek, modern appearance that complements my kitchen decor. Cleaning is straightforward, thanks to the smooth surfaces and detachable components. Overall, this pressure cooker combines functionality, safety, and style, making it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to enhance their cooking experience.

I bought this specifically for my induction cooktop. I own a couple of bigger prestige pressure cookers so I am not new to this. Works great on my induction cooktop and is the right size for a family of four.

The shape of the pressure cooker is such that it can be used as a cooking pan as well as a pressure cooker. All the disadvantages of a flat lid has been addressed in this model.

It looks like a very nice cooker except for the pressure valve! I always had a rocker type where I could adjust the heat so the pressure valve would lightly "float" on the stem causing very little steam to come out and VERY LITTLE noise being made. This valve, even on low heat, completely seals till it reaches a certain pressure and then suddenly pops opens to let pressure out which makes A LOT OF NOISE!!! As you cook it pops open and then shuts....pops open then shuts...over and over again every couple of minutes! VERY ANNOYING!!!! I now appreciate my rocker valve cooker that makes almost no noise. This may sound like a trivial deal but to me it is MAJOR! I have to go into another room to talk on the phone! If your entertaining or watching television, your having to tolerate this on-off hissing noise!I will be writing this off as a lesson learned and sell it in a garage sale.

This pressure cooker does the job and seems to be of high quality and good design. I wish to address some of the 1-star reviews claiming a leaking gasket seal. The gasket is designed to blow out before the cooker becomes a bomb, so care be used to ensure that the gasket is installed correctly, that it is clean, and that the pressure cooker is used correctly. The manual states to "place the Cooker on high heat" initially to start the cooking process. I feel this could be an issue when using certain stove tops that can heat extremely rapidly and pressure builds so rapidly that the gasket blow-by occurs. My recommendation ( if your stove heat very fast) is to start at medium heat to prevent such a rapid buildup of pressure that steam is blown out of the seal. Watch the pot closely and when the "pressure indicator" pops up IMMEDIATELY reduce the heat (to low or medium-low...practice will determine what setting is best). If it "weight valve" doesn't release steam within a couple of minutes, increase the heat slightly. The correct heat setting is obtained when the "weight valve" releases steam every three to five minutes or so.

It’s easy to handle and cooks fast, the lid needs a little pressure on top to close but overall a good quality product though it’s quiet pricey for the size…

I have been using Prestige Pressure Cookers since 10 years and have no major complaints. It has been the best pressure cooker brand in India. However, this new model came with a cheap quality metal safety valve that broke out of the cooker lid within a week after use. The cooker is not usable and no safety without the safety valve. Beware of buying the model.

Seller: Cloudtail IndiaPrice: 1696/-Delivery: Next day, Prime, BangalorePackage: Well Packed, but came in open box (Not covering the product, Very bad!)Recommended: YesReturnable: YesThe package came with just product box sealed, letting all others know that we are buying a pressure cooker. Very bad Cloudatail Seller, why do we need to disclose our purchase to others?.We purchased this cooker for cooking sambar, dhal and curries. Prestige cookers are good, but only next to Hawkins, however we found the equivalent in Hawkins are of costly. Plus, this Deluxe alpha contains the Pressure indicator which seems new and might be useful. In the box, 1 Cooker unit, Warranty card (Not sealed), Service manual, Cooking book. The box was sealed and new in piece. The cooker has this pressure indicator which rises when the sufficient pressure is reached and also indicates that if the internal pressure has dropped enough to open the lid. Well, this isn't a big deal but having this is not bad either. The whistle sound is loud and clear, only concern that if you don't place the lid correctly and close it, it could wrongly place the lid and can go locked up!.-- Always make sure you place the lid correctly while closing, check if it freely locks, else don't apply Force-- First time, add 300 ml water, lock the lid and heat it for 10 minutes. Then start using it-- Don't cook by whistle count always, use timeOverall, we are satisfied with the product, easy to wash unlike Hawkins lid closing internally. Able to cooksk curries, side dishes very well. Hope my review is useful, if so you may consider liking it. Thanks!

Update: Design Defect40 minutes into cooking 1st meal on temperature 2 the gasket from the smaller handle side lid came out of the over sized hole and steam started to leak from top of that hole in the lid. In a good pressure cooker steam should leak only from top weight part not from any other safety holes. To solve this problem I cut out a food can lid 4"x1" and folded both side of the the 1" size and made it 1/4'' and stick that piece between the gasket and side of the lids big hole. This solved the problem, gasket not popping out from side any more.I should reduce my rating from 5* to 3* or 1*.I also boil food first in the pressure cooker in Hi without the lid and then put the id without the pressure release weight, after the lid is on then I put the pressure weight. Now a days pressure cookers don't mention what is the pressure rating for their pressure cooker. Different weight usually changes the pressure inside the pressure cooker. To cool down I put pressure cooker under sink and run room temperature water.5*, excellent item, bottom is made of steel and not aluminium bottom like the butterfly steel pressure cooker one (that one won't work on induction cook-top), so works on induction stove top. Happy. This is not my 1st or last pressure cooker and been using pressure cookers over 40 years. Present day ones last me around 5 years before replacing gasket/rubbers. In older days the bulky french one's lasted 10 years before replacing the gaskets. In 1st picture 5 liter Bravetti, 3 liter s.steel prestige, 2 liter hawkings aluminium, 5 liter fresco s.steel.This 3L one has a lot of silicon gaskets all over the place (in every hole). They will dry out in 3 to 5 year. If amazon sell replacement gaskets for this pressure cooker then it will last past 3 year otherwise will end up in the garbage even the package says it has 10 year warranty. Among all pressure cookers in pictue, I prefer the Bravetti 5 liter one because while cooking it doesn't leak any steam from the pressure release valve and dosn't make home smell like food. All the stove top ones releases food stem during cooking. The electric one has timer and that helps.I recommend this pressure cooker but this company need to sell rebuilding gaskets for this pot.
