I chose these because of durability not realizing that the doors were so hard to open and so hard to close I would have sent them back and bought the plastic but I decided to keep them I give them three stars because the doors are so hard to operate.

I used it for an air shut off for my wood stove, as the air shut off allows some air through and if you need to shut down the fire quickly, this device will do that.

These units have a full opening for maximum air flow.The ones I replaced them with would not allow a full opening but blocked about 25% of the air from flowing freely, plus leaked at all the mating surfaces.These are a definite improvement, I didn't want to invest the time to make my own blast gates as I would rather spend it working on projects other than blast gates.Worth the investment for me and they are full lock open and close which my other ones had a thumb screw that you had to always fiddle with.

I haven't powered up my Dust Collector yet but these gates appear to be a very good quality. I have one connected to a pipe that is ducted out through the side of my house, and I don't feel any air leakage using my hand.I am hoping they will work as well as they look.

These are the best gates I've found. They have bigger flanges and they're sealed against leakage. No clogging. What a great design.

Buy these, not the cheaper plastic ones, that is if you want something that doesn't clog easily and affects its closing tight.

Seems to be of good quality. I feel the taper was a little excess for a slip joint.I prefer a rolled bead. It won't be tight on my 4-in hose coupling. The shipper beat it up and bent the plate. I believe I can straighten and salvage it.

I installed a mobile A/C unit and vented the hot air into the house vent system and use the gate to block it off when not in use.

Perfect fit into my dust collection system. It is a little on the loose side, but when the DC is on, it creates a good seal. When opened, there is a bit of an air leak but this is common with all blast gates having a cleanout path. I may make a foam adapter to see if I can help block the gap when open.
