I’ve seen several comments claiming that the adapter did not fit well, but the adapter I received fit snuggly and stayed in place on my planer. I have a DW735.Piece was well made, solid. I expect it to hold up just fine.

What you have here is a 3D printed adapter that allows you to use a standard shop vac style hose on the ubiquitous DeWalt planer. The planer comes with a connector that allows for 4" dust collection systems to connect along with the smaller 2.5" in the center. This adapter will allow you to use whatever dust system you are currently using in your shop to connect directly to the planer. The planer has a blower inside of it so it already fires out the waste but having a dust suction system really helps keep the shop clean. To adapt to other hoses, this type of connector is really necessary. I found this particular adapter to work just fine. I am always concerned with 3D printed products because I hear them creak when I squeeze them so I expect them to snap. This one certainly did not snap and it has been in my planer for over a month getting dragged around the shop without any problems so far.

I recently received the DeWalt DW735 thickness planer as a birthday gift, so I thought I would purchase this adapter when I want to use the planer with my dust extractor. I also have a dust collector in my shop, so I normally would use that, but my shop is small and everything has to roll around on wheels, so sometimes I will roll the planer outside on a nice day and this would make it easier to connect my extractor. The adapter looks to be 3D printed of high-quality material and the layer lines are nice. Quality construction and a great fit on the smaller diameter portion of the dust port on the planer. Works well with my 2.5" extractor, just be cautioned that the manufacturer recommends using a 4" dust collector due to the size of the chips that can me exhausted (could plug a 2.5" hose). I think for the price, this is a great value for the money. The adapter connection is very positive and offers flexibility on how you want to remove the dust exhausted from this planer.

Let me start by saying for 12.00 I can MAKE a pvc adapter. 20.00 for an ill fitting 3D print seems excessive.The pieces are a bit small, so you'll have to tape them to make a firm fit.But if you don't want to build one, this works

Nothing fancy, just a printed piece of plastic. It works and does what it’s supposed to though would have preferred a nice extruded piece rather than printed for the money.
