Looks and feels very durable, whether the gate rusts or not depends on moisture level in your shop. The frame is cast aluminum no corrosion concerns there.

The aluminum casting allows for easy modification to improve the sealing. the tolerance of the fit between the gate and the casting is quite loose, which is better than tight fit. I was able to improve the fit, while keeping the function correct. My use was a custom application.

I switched to these after using the plastic ones for a long time. The plastic gates get sawdust in the gate runner and won't close, and I lose all my airflow. These don't have that problem. Big improvement.

I was using plastic blast gates but never again. They leak and plug up with dust. I have now replaced all my blast gates with metal gates.

This is a well-constructed, 6" blast gate. I mounted easily to the dust collector with a Powertec rubber adapter boot. It operates smoothly. I like it better than the plastic blast gates that I have used for years.

Reasonably heavy duty. Lots of air leak when in closed position at the slide. Had to put pieces of take to take the gap. Not a problem removing and reapplying the tape if the slide is only intermittently used, but would have been 5 stars if the fit was tighter or had a gasket.

I picked metal blast gates over plastic because I felt that metal would last longer and take more abuse. So far I've been very happy with them. No problem with suction when the others are closed. A great value for the money.I would buy them again if needed.
