Specifically, it connects a 1-1/2” ID with a 2-1/2” ID dry wet vacuum accessories – providing you with flexibility and consistent grabbing power.

Please Note: This fitting has a 2-1/2” OD end and is designed to fit 2-1/2” ID ports or openings, like flexible dust collection hoses. If you need to connect to a 2-1/2” OD port, an adapter like POWERTEC 70148 will be needed. The 1-1/2” OD end will fit most 1-1/2” ID ports and some 1-1/4” OD port or shop vacuum accessories. Before ordering, verify that the listed dimensions fit your shop vacuum or application.

I needed to convert a 3 gallon Bauer wet/dry vac hose to fit a DeWalt Planer. It worked. So I the DeWalt Planer is 4" or 2.5" for the exhaust and I bought a 2.5" hose that fits in the DeWalt but didn't fit into my Bauer Dry/Wet Vac. So I bought this converter, and it converts my 2.5" hose to a 1.5" hose. Then, I was able to attach the 1.5" hose to it, and finally the original 1.5" Bauer hose into the wet/dry vac.Word of caution: You can not fit the converter directly into a 1.5" opening on the wet/dry vac itself; it doesn't stay inside. This converter is for the hose.

I have these adapters all over my system from this company and they have all been fantastic quality. This steps me down from 2 1/2 to 1 1/2 to use on shop vacs , small tools and for cleaning up wood shop dust. Works like a champ.

I got this to fit my Dewalt DWE575 circular saw's dust attachment to my vac. Problem is it's a 1 1/4 outlet and my Ridgid shop vac uses 2 1/2 inch fittings. I got this Powertech 2 1/2 to 1 1/4 adapter which fits my vac hose perfectly, but the 1 1/4 end is the same size as the outlet on the dust attachment, so one does not fit in the other, (rather than the od on one matching the id on the other, they have roughly the same od and id). I got this blue striped hose from the plumbing section at Lowe's, sold by the foot for about $4. It fits perfectly on the reducer, but It was a tad too tight for the dust collection attachment so I used a heat gun and the bottle of foam filter oil in the pic. The bottle has a neck that is the perfect size to stretch out the hose to fit the dust collector. I got it warm and pushed it down the neck to open up the id. After a couple applications it fits perfect. Now everything fits up very tight with a perfect seal. Works great. I also have a Dewalt random orbital sander that the hose fit on perfectly without stretching. I cut the tubing in half and used half to make an adapter for that as well with the Powertech reducer. I don't do many reviews, but it can be a real headache to figure this stuff out, so hopefully this review helps others with the same issue.
