We used ours for thawing ice on the ground so we could lay pipe last winter. It saved us hours of backbreaking work chipping through ice! Note: we purchased this on another site but still wanted to leave a review here.

We bought this to thaw the surface of the ground during the winter months on construction jobs, and to keep rolls of pipe warm so they are easy to unroll. I have to say this was really underwhelming. It BARELY thaws the ground after being down for a couple of hours, it basically could melt a thin powder coating of snow and keep the ground warm. Seriously, we left it once for about 4 hours and couldn't even rake the top layer of un-compacted item4.For keeping the pipe warm it actually worked pretty well, but that wasn't what we really bought it for. Just bummed out as we had seen some good reviews and ads depicting the thawing and it just did not meet expectations.
