They are OK compared to other similar (poor) drum heating methods, but not comparible to evenly-heating methods like forced-air hotboxes. In spite of the marketing propaganda that we fell for, they do not heat a drum even close to evenly - all of ours will hit 145F at the top of the drum while the bottom is still cold and frozen at 65°F, even after 7+ days. This is running full bore with or without the thermostat. The thermostat idea itself is an engineering joke and borders on criminal false advertising, as it has a single zone thermocouple controlling the entire blanket when there are supposedly 3 independent heating zones. Which zone do you put the thermcouple? Especially when there is a 80°F spread between top and bottom? We would say these are just good for low-temperature materials that aren't scorch-sensitive, or maybe for getting a jump-start on a drum if the hotbox is full.

These drum blankets work great. I will buy two more as soon as budget allows. Be aware that thermostat wire must be placed so that it can't fall down onto the cold floor, else the drums can overheat if the thermostat thinks the drum surface is cold.

Great blanket and even better customer service, we use this to maintain drums of polymer and works fantastic.

I have clients in many different industries that use these blankets. They work great for heating epoxy, honey and other temperature sensitive products. Very pleased.Shannon HodgesOwnerTri-City Industrial

A great heater. I use it to make Vegetable Glycerin easier to pump, and it does the trick. Takes a day to heat fully, but keeps steady temperature. I would buy this again and have recommended it to friends.
