This is a nice, solid ricer. It feels more expensive than one I used previously, but it actually costs less. Performance is about the same, but I feel like this one will last longer. It's a great value for the price. A ricer makes the absolute best mashed potatoes.

I have always wanted a ricer in order to make very smooth mashed potatoes. The construction of this ricer is excellent and it’s very heavy duty. It absolutely was able to stand up to the pressure of pushing potatoes through it. However, it is actually extremely hard to rice potatoes. I did not have the stamina to get through an entire pot of potatoes and resorted back to my traditional masher. That’s not the fault of this product simply a warning to those of you who think that they are going to slide through very easily. I am looking forward to other ways of using this ricer, such as dough or frosting for decorations.

I love my potato ricer!! The quality is awesome, it’s lightweight, so easy to use, and works so well. The texture of the potatoes makes it so easy to mix and it’s surprisingly so easy to use. You have to get this!!

I've used this potato ricer twice since I got it, and I love it! I made the Christmas dinner mashed potatoes with it, and didn't get any photos of that because I was up to my neck in cooking the whole meal. In the past, I would just use my hand mixer to try to get the fluffiest mash potatoes, but there's always a few lumps that get in there and it drives me crazy, to the point that I was over whipping the potatoes and they were turning into a paste, rather than being silky and fluffy. I remember several recipes telling me that I needed a ricer, and I thought "Oh no, not another gadget!" Well now I have one I realize what a difference it makes. I still used the hand mixer afterwards (incorporating the butter, milk and seasoning), but for a lot less time, and it gave me the creamiest, fluffiest mash potatoes I've ever made. So I will be using it from now on.It is well constructed and pushes the potatoes through pretty well, with just a little bit coming back up the sides, kind of the way my garlic press does, but it is still usable and not a waste. If you use it for sweet potatoes, (as I did in the photos for the dog food I make) you'll find it separates out the fibers from the potatoes. Some people may not want to remove the fibers because they may contain health benefits, but it certainly makes them even creamier than they would be and much easier to distribute and blend. It is very easy to clean too!It turns out you can use a potato ricer for a whole host of things, including squeezing pomegranate seeds to make juice, and peeling tomatoes, which I would never have thought of! I will definitely use it to make my Gazpacho soup in the summer! But as of today, the very next project will be to make home-made gnocchi from a new recipe I found...

This potato ricer is a good size and holds more potatoes than the picture would have you believe. The handles are very comfortable and make squeezing out the potatoes a piece of cake!I also like the size of the holes which make perfectly smooth potatoes every time!I'm not really a fan of having interchangeable hole sizes. Some of the cheaper ones tend to bend and lose there shape. Plus that's just more things that you will have to store away. Just give me the hole size that works the best and be done with it!I also like that when using thin skinned potatoes like yellow or reds there is no need to peel them first. Simply quarter the potatoes as you normally would for boiling, place them in the ricer skin side up, squeeze and only the skin is left behind. Simply lift them out and continue on!The quality of this product is very good and sturdy and should last for many years!Clean up is also very easy.If you never used a ricer before than you should absolutely try this one. You'll never go back to the old fashioned way of mashing potatoes again!

I like this ricer. It's almost entirely stainless steel, which makes cleanup easy (or as easy as cleaning a ricer can be), and the tab for leaning it on a pot is a nice touch. I also like that there's very little waste with this ricer, almost all of the potato comes out each time. Good crushing power as well, one time I even undercooked some potatoes and they still went through this ricer without much difficulty, and I'm not particularly strong. The only thing is, the gap between the handles is quite large for my smaller hands, so I end up having to use both hands at least to get it started. But overall, this is a nice addition to my kitchen tools!

This potato rice is well made overall. It gets the job done for quickly ricing potatoes to make creamy mashed potatoes. Would have preferred one with interchangeable hole sizes as sometimes you want more texture (lumps.)The handles have strips of silicone on the top of them for comfort. It does help but it would have been better if the silicone covered to the edge with a beveled slope. The ends and undersides of the handles are a bit sharp and mostly a concern while handling or washing the ricer. It feels like the edges could easily slice one's hands if not held with extreme care. Fortunately, this is a tool I plan to only use for making larger quantities of mashed potatoes.
