The handle of this sturdy masher is welded to the base, so there are no parts that wobble. The handle is rounded so that it fits your hand comfortably and allows for a tight grip. I've used it to mash berries and avocados and have found the masher to be easy to clean. The end of the handle has been drilled so that you hang it if desired.

This masher is sturdy and more on the heavier side, which I like. Long enough to be used in deeper pots with comfort. Simple design, good grip. I do like my mashed potatoes smooth and creamy though, with no bits, which is kind of a time-consuming task with this (and perhaps with other hand mashers as well) so I end up finalizing with an electric hand mixer after using this, to make it quicker and easier. But overall it does the job and seems durable.

So for the longest time, I've made mashed potatoes with an electric mixer which always leaves lumps or overworks the starch. I've been wanting to get a potato ricer but didn't want to give up the drawer space or deal with all different pieces. This mashers works just as well as a ricer to make perfect fluffy mashed potatoes, but is cheaper, easier to clean, and takes up less space. Even if you only make mashed potatoes a few times a year, this is worth having around.

I love smooth, creamy, whipped potatoes, and stand/hand mixers never can quite do the job. But you know what can? This handy, dandy masher. It's a solid piece of metal, so I don't have to worry about the handle breaking off. I like that the handle is long, so I don't have to put my entire arm into the pot when mashing the potatoes when I make a huge batch of them for the holidays. It also can withstand the forces needed to properly rice the potatoes. The holes are the perfect size; very similar to the size of the ricer I used to use in culinary school, where we made creamy, silky whipped potatoes. Another undervalued feature is that the mashing part is round, so it's very easy to mash those hard-to-reach potato pieces that tend to get stuck in the corners of the pots. Very happy I got this and will be using it a lot.

I have an old potato masher that I’ve kept for years dreading the day it breaks because it’s been the only one that has ever worked. Now I worry no more. When I received this masher, I had a few doubts. It was small. Would it really mash a big pot of potatoes? The little holes didn’t look like much. Would they really be enough to mash potatoes or would it just press them down into a hard mess? The first time I used it, I realized I had no need to worry. It mashed a very large pot of potatoes faster than even my trusty old plastic one could have done. And it mashed the potatoes more completely. The last is kind of a double-edged sword because I actually like chunks in my mashed potatoes. I know, I’m unique.

This potato masher (Potato Masher Stainless Steel - Heavy Duty Mashed Potato Masher Kitchen Tool, Potato Smasher For Potato, Avocado, Sweet Potato, Vegetable, Fruits) works amazing in a bowl and in pots due to its round design. I've been using a regular rectangular masher and was always frustrated that it doesn't fit in round things very well. Now that I have this round shaped masher, it works just as I'd imagined it would, so easy and the round curve just get every little bit mashed up.This stainless steel masher has smooth edges and perfect weight and sturdiness, no flex at all due to its thickness. I was able to quickly mash my potatoes and it was easy to wash up. The potatoes push through the holes similar to watching a meat grinder extrude meat out of its holes. This is a great masher that works perfectly and I'm so glad I was able to get it to try out.

Something as basic as a potato masher can be life changing. I have a potato masher that I received as a wedding gift in the 1980's. It's plastic, or maybe melamine, and the handle is square shaped with uncomfortable edges. I used this thing for years!!!! Why??? And I had sore hands every time I made mashies. When I finally decided enough is enough, and stumbled upon this stainless steel potato masher, I wondered to myself, 'why have you been putting up with a horrible masher all these years???" So I got this one. And to be honest, not really sure what to expect....maybe something flimsy. This masher is not at all flimsy. The handle is very comforable on the hands, and the mashing surface is large, to make quick work or mashing potatoes. The Irish guacamole, a.k.a. Mashed Potatoes, that I made last night were smooth and fluffy. No lumps. And I even left the skins on them. Yum. I love mashed potatoes. And I love my new potato masher.
