The tool is great but the price is ridiculous. I bought it because I need the tool.

Brilliant design! Easy to use!Other gear pullers are a pain when it comes to tightening the arms. This bad boy requires no additional tools to operate perfectly! After using a PosiLock, there are no other gear pullers!

I have owned 2 of these over the past 8 years and they are the favorite puller in my tool drawer. They work on the smaller bearings where there is a tight fit on the backside, where you need to find that gripping surface. They also expand to do larger bearings. I did break my first one but that was my own fault. I was really cranking down on a stubborn bearing and broke the spot weld near the top of the puller. I should have used some penetrating oil or heat before I went all crazy with the puller.

These pullers are great!! None of the off-brand china garbage (you know, the trash that dominates Amazon "Sponsored" searches) can hold a candle to these pullers. The first time you use a posi lock puller you will be sold based solely on your time saved in 1) Getting the puller out of your toolbox and setting it up 2) Getting it on the workpiece and 3) How quickly and cleanly you are able to pull the workpiece off and 4) How easy it is to wipe off and put it back in the toolbox. They do take up more room but the time savings makes up for the loss of toolbox real estate.

I heard this was a quality puller so I went ahead and spent the extra $ for a good one. On the first use, one of the legs distorted, so I took a picture and sent it to the company. I had a response in literally 5 minutes with an apology, saying this is rare, and they would send me a new arm for the puller. Sure enough, it arrived 2 days later via UPS, all under warranty. I don't write reviews very often, but I believe this is outstanding customer service. (BTW, the puller does seem very heavy-duty, and I believe my initial problem was a fluke.)

Disappointed at first after two unsuccessful efforts to pull a 2 1/4 gear on a sander whose part cost $100 to replace. Posi Lock was an expensive choice, or was it a mistake? On the third day, expecting the worst, off easily came the gear intact., and more than justifying its cost. I would give American-made Posi Lock 10 stars if I could, plus a few virtual ones for WD40. Posi Lock is indeed the gold standard for gear pullers, and a lesson how unwise it is to trade cheap crap for this country's soul, the quality of our manufacturing base sacrificed in the name of global reality.
