I have had a 7336 PC sander that has endured 20 + years of hard use before finally giving up. I bought this newer model and expected it to be cheaper as many thing are these days. Pleased with this tool as it looks to be designed and built to give me another 20 years of good sanding production. Glad I bought it!

I purchased my first dual action sander in 1997 in November 2024. I purchased my second port cable dual action sender. It’s the best I wouldn’t think about purchasing any other dual action sander

Random orbital sanders with adhesive disks are the best things ever. I've owned a Porter Cable sander for 30 years, bought one for my son, and have used it on almost every project I've done. The bookshelves I made for our Church came out beautifully and starting from 80 grit to 600 grit made a wonderful finish.I own belt sanders, planers, routers, etc, but this would be the first tool I would recommend you buy or give to a young burdening woodworker.

This is the first polisher I have owned and used so I cannot make a comparison. I purchased it primarily for car polishing and waxing. I have an assortment of Chemical Guys Hex pads. I enjoyed using this machine and happy with the results that was achieved. It sure beats hand polishing.

This is the same unit as 7424 XP except it comes with an ADDED backing plate for sanding, and was $20 cheaper when I bought it. I use it for buffing/polishing my car. I was surprised how well it worked, taking out scratches and swirls and restoring that wet look to my clearcoat. I find that I don't use the handle, as the unit is well balanced when you hold it from the middle. The handles, being at the business end of the machine, tends to vibrate quite a bit. Holding it in the middle avoids the vibration. I use it with an ASTRO 4607 5" hook and loop backing plate and Chemical Guys pads, both of which are sold through Amazon. This machine buffed out swirls and some minor surface scuffs and scratches. The bulk of the work involved cleaning and clay barring the car. I suggest clay barring it section by sections ahead of your buffing/waxing to avoid buffing any foreign matter (pollen, tree stuff and other airborne things) into the clear coat. Your car should be clean to the touch before buffing/waxing. The machine part is easy and rewarding. When you are done there shouldn't be much was reside to wipe off. Use a good quality cloth to do this final wipe. I bought this unit to repair damage I did using a cheap shammy from that freight place.

I have used this sander for years. From building cabinets to waxing a vehicle. I had well over 500 hrs on my last one and it was still working great. Now it works great in the hands of a thief, hence my purchase of a new one. Great sander for the money.Be careful where you set this sander. If it falls from about waste high and lands on its pad, the shaft can bend and create quite the wobble when running. Good thing, though, that part is replaceable.
