This is a great sander - especially for the price.OK, full disclosure, I am coming from a Bauer brand orbital sander to this fine piece of equipment. It has a lot less vibration and it seems to sand the boards much more efficiently. I love it.

I purchased this sander partway through an extensive garage renovation. With built-in wood cabinetry that had been neglected for years, I began sanding the frames and doors using a traditional orbital sander combined with a sheet sander I had previously purchased. After some challenges and additional research, I decided to purchase the Bosch RANDOM ORBITAL sander. I quickly realized I had been missing out and should have started the project with this tool. The results are far superior to the other two sanders, and it is much easier to use, with superior results. In addition, the dust collection on this tool is superior. While the dust bin isn't necessarily easy to empty (I use a vacuum while opening), that challenge doesn't take away from the superior qualities of this sander. When combined with the "Rockler - Dust Right FlexiPort Power Tool Hose Kit with Click-Connect, 3' to 12' Expandable Hose", also sold on Amazon, you can tackle large projects while connecting the sander to your shop vac using the included connector. Best sander EVER!

The BOSCH ROS20VSC is a well-rounded palm sander that excels in versatility and ease of use. Its variable speed control allows for precise adjustments to match different sanding tasks, while the integrated dust collection system effectively minimizes mess. The compact design and comfortable grip make it easy to maneuver in tight spaces, and the included accessories, such as the carrying bag and various sanding pads, add to its overall value. This sander is a solid choice for both DIYers and professionals seeking a reliable and efficient tool for a variety of sanding projects.

The Bosch ROS20VSC is a fantastic random orbital sander. It delivers a smooth finish with its swirl-preventing pad dampening system and offers great versatility with variable speed control. The hook and loop system makes disc changes easy, and the dust collection system is highly effective, keeping the workspace clean. The included carrying bag and accessories are a nice bonus. My only minor issue is that the dust canister fills up quickly on larger jobs. Overall, a reliable and efficient tool—highly recommend!

I bought my sander in 2016 and have used it *a ton* on wood working and metal working projects. This spring I even used it to sand the hull of my fiberglass sailboat. It simply is one of the best thought-out power tools in my arsenal. It collects dust *very* well with its included exhaust filter. In eight years I've never had to replace the filter, I just use my shop vac to suck out all the dust and debris from the filter, and away we go! That said, it also works well in collecting dust when joined with a shop vac; several days of continuous use on the sailboat proved that. What tipped me over to finally write a review is that the pad finally wore out. After eight years the sander wouldn't hold onto sanding pads any longer. But... replacement pads are available! Cheap! On Amazon! My recommendation; buy two replacement pads. Who knows if they'll still be available in 2032?While I'm at it I think that I'll search for a replacement filter, just in case...

This is my first random orbital sander and it gives smooth and efficient sanding. The handle is very comfortable to hold for long periods and it's very lightweight compared to sanding with my multi-tool attachment. The dust collection system is very efficient and it had reduced my cleanup significantly. I still wear a mask but this really does its job well. The cover is a bit hard to remove though so be careful when cleaning or else you'll have fine dust everywhere. I wish the canister was a bit larger but I do like the option to use my own shop vacuum.Overall, it's a solid choice for DIYers like myself

The function--a generous gradient of speed settings via the selector wheel has thus far ensured that the projects I've worked on the past couple of months come out as intended. Obviously having the appropriate sandpaper grits helps a lot, but combining them with effective rotary speeds made easy work of a butcher block desk recently completed, from the initial rough sanding, to the final polyurethane polish. Only real issue--which is relatively minor--is that at low speed, putting much down pressure beyond the weight of the device results in noticeable slowdown of the sanding disc, which is adequate for final sanding and polishing, but can make said tasks take longer. The dust collector worked well enough without a vacuum that outdoor use without a mask was possible. The form--Very comfortable and easy to control, , and overall construction is very solid. The handle is grippy without being tacky, so one can get into a good work flow without worrying about nicking a surface because the sander tilted away from flush while changing hands. Durability--Have only used for a total of five or so hours, but at least no problems or visible wear and tear have resulted from them. Accessories--The version purchased came with a canvas bag, which looks and feels very rugged and is flanked by pockets on the outside for...well, pocketing things. The opening is bolstered by what feels like heavy metal wires/bars, so it doesn't sag or fold in the middle. I wish it were a little larger to accommodate sanding sheets and discs, but it comfortably holds the tool itself, and has space for a few wrenches, screwdrivers, pencils, etc.Overall--Highly recommeded
