[edited recently as company offered a refund - i declined their offer because i use this thing every day without any issues whatsoever] - (see pros and cons below) I bought the 16A version, using it on a standard 120V NEMA 5-15 receptacle outlet in the garage. I had hoped this unit would enable my plug-in hybrid to charge faster than the car's charger since it was rated up to 16A however the car's onboard charger which does all the work is limited to about 11-12A. But I like having my car's charger that has both a 120V and 240V plug adapters in my car at all times instead or having it on the ready for a quick charge on my outdoor 240V outlet, and that's the main reason I purchased this one. I haven't tried it on a 240V 6-20 outlet but have considered rewiring an outlet for that purpose.Pros:- temperature readout- NO APP REQUIRED!!- displays approximate power delivered- ability to set max current- status light is easy to see across the garage (blinking when charging, solid when done)Cons:- the 16A doesn't come with a cord holder or plug mount and the charger itself only has a single screw hole in the back so it constantly swings side to side (super annoying, they just needed to make another slot in the back to fix)- the current reading and hence power delivery reading is a little low (determined by evaluating actual battery power delivered to the car which was higher than the charger reads, i would understand if it was the other way around as the onboard chargers aren't super efficient and more power is delivered to the car than what actually gets to the battery).- the charging cord gets pretty stiff in cooler weather (~40F in the garage)

We have 2 Chevy bolts. This charger seems to act up on both. We’ve got 2 older chargers and we’re looking to upgrade, however we have chosen to use our older ones over the lack of consistency. This one seems to work 1/2 the time

Great charger for an effective and cost efficient charget using 240V. I used an industrial Nema 6-20 plug which is able to handle 20amps. Using 12-2 wire connected to a dedicated 20a dual pole breaker you can safely charge your car without breaking the bank. This charger draws about 14.5A realistically, ending up to be 3.5kw charging. It is enough to charge my hungry Audi E-Tron overnight. At this rate I don't see the need for anything more expensive and potentially unsafe due to high power draw.

Even though this thing got Pretty Good reviews, I was a bit skeptical due to the low price. I am So Glad I picked this Charger. The build quality is Awesome!!! The screen is Easy to read. Having the ability to charge from standard outlet or dryer is Incredible!!! Awesome Charger!!!!!!I have a 2016 VW eGolf

I bought this as I have a dedicated 120v 20a circuit in my garage. My Ford provided charger for my Mache only charges at 120v 12a using the provided 120v cable. This charger is rated at 120/240v 16 amps. In testing it, It charges at about 14.5-15 amps and charges at 5-6 kw vs the Ford charger at 3-4 kw. It averages about 6 mph vs 4 mph which is 50% faster than the car charger. The unit has a nice display to tell you what is going on including device temperature. The temperature does run about 120 degrees in my SW Florida garage. The cord does feel warm, that is not unusual, and my car charger also was warm while charging. So far I am pleased with this purchase. Something I would like them to change would be to have the screen go out while Idle and come on when charging. That would reduce the usage cost of having the screen on while not charging. My average usage is about 20-40 miles per day so charging at 120v works for me. Been using this now for 3 months and it is working perfectly.
