This is one of the worst assembled devices I've ever received from Amazon. There was excessive plastic injection molding flash on nearly every edge, the cage holding the porous pads for evaporative cooling appears to have been whittled by hand to allow it to fit around the ultrasonic vapor emitter, the housing could be easily separated on one side revealing that a screw was missing, and after the first few minutes of operation i tilted it slightly and a bunch of water poured out from somewhere.I left it idle for about a week to completely dry, then filled the reservoir halfway and turned it on facing me on a particularly hot day. The air didn't feel any cooler than a weak fan, but the badly translated instructions do mention that you have to let it run for ~10 minutes before the evaporative effect kicks in. Unfortunately, after about 12-15 min the device abruptly stopped and emitted a horrible burning smell. I quickly unplugged it and put it outside. For the current price, it is clearly not worth considering. If this were $5, you might want to take a chance. Just don't leave it unattended.

Lately, my air conditioning in my house wasn't quite cutting it. I got this to supplement in my room where I work. Inside my house, it seems to do fairly well. I think that is because it is less humid in my house. Outside, where it is much more humid, it didn't really work all that well except as a fan. I was worried that it would leave water residue on my desk but it didn't. The three speeds are nice and I feel like it actually did an OK job of cooling down the room just a bit over the hour that I ran it.I didn't like that it had micro USB (instead of USB-C) but it came with a cable but that is relatively minor.I feel like I can recommend this as an option for small spaces (especially in dry climates).
