The rail looks good, but it didn’t come with the necessary hardware.I tried to replace it, but then Amazon offered me a $40 partially refund to keep it. I use that money to buy the missing hardware.Fair enough, but it was a bit of a hassle

I got two of these to use as railing for our pool stairs. I have been putting off installing railings for more than a year because I was worried about installation time. I thought these would be easier because they came with everything included, even the drill bit. Unfortunately, the bit included is the 4 sided kind that does not work well with my smaller hammer drill. (The "hold" is only 3 points, so it is hard to keep a balance with the 4 sided bit, if that makes sense.) Note that buying a new bit the right size is a little difficult since it is metric sized, and most of the bits in US hardware stores are not metric. In addition, the nuts that came with this have already started to rust 2 weeks after installation. I do not see any evidence of rust on the handrail, but I think I am going to have to just start from scratch on the hardware installation to get anything that will last.

I can’t review quality of the product because I’m unable to install because of missing parts. When I receive the missing parts I will change my rating. I changed my rating after receiving a new handrail.

My wife and I are both in our 70's so this safety handrail has been much appreciated for getting in and out of our pool. We are very pleased with the results but installation isn't exactly plug and play. You may need some tools not found in every household. The concrete deck around our pool turns out to be pretty darn hard so I needed to use my hammer drill as shown in the first phone. Second, the concrete drill bit provided in the handrail kit is quite large and would not bore into our concrete even with the hammer drill. So I had to start by drilling pilot holes in ever larger sizes (four sizes in all). This may or may not be the case for you depending on the strength and consistency of your pool deck concrete. Also, the drill bit provided in the kit is just a hair to small to be able to push the self tightening bolt into the hole. I tried the next step larger drill bit I had on hand but that made the hole TOO big so instead I used the provided bit to do some extra "reaming out" of the hole to make it a bit larger. I then used a socket (shown on left in the third photo) to slip over the end of the bolt threads and drive the bolt down the hole. I had to be cautious because I was drilling very close to the edge of the concrete and the edge of the pool and didn't want to crack off a chunk of concrete. After drilling the first hole I positioned the handrail to mark the remaining three holes and drilled them out. One of the bolts (photo 5) was too long to install the bolt cap so I had to cut it off with my angle grinder. The one disappointment for us was the cover (blue in last photo) that is provided for the handrail. It is a really nice zippered cover BUT it bunches up around the inside curve of the hand (see photo) and also there is not way to install it without the zipper showing on either the top section or lower section of the handrail. We would be happy to go without the cover but here in the Central Valley of CA the handle can get VERY hot when exposed to the sun. So we are exploring alternatives to provide some sort of cover that will have a smooth appearance and still protect from the heat. All-in-all, however, we are very pleased with the Oswerpon pool railing. Just be prepared for some possible installation challenges.

Haven't had a chance to install this yet but from the first appearance this is very good quality and should be relatively easy for a professional to install. I am not going to do it. But the quality is good, instructions are easy to read and I am sure it will function as it is suppose to.

Bought 2 to supplement the pontoon ladder I bought earlier in the year for the wood deck I built for my above ground pool. I upgraded to 1/2 inch lag screws. Looks great, good quality, excellent value!
